We were incredibly fortunate to have GIK cater our wedding in August! Benny, Sri, and the team were exceptional in working closely with us to ensure that we were able to serve our favorite dishes in a reasonable manner. GIK was super flexible with our DIY, bring everything in venue (Windham Manor) despite never working the location prior to our wedding. After being super cautious, we were blown away by how professional and seamless GIK was. Our guests still talk about how incredible the food and drinks were. Thank you for making our special day so much better than we could have even imagined!!!

Rather than “great” it was just ok. Spice levels are very very mild even when asking for spicy. Naan is a little under-cooked. Rice was cold and not fresh. Service is a bit slow. Menu does have a nice variety so will try something else next time and ask for a spicier level. Will also try the buffet since reviews say it is better than sit down order experience.

I came to Albany to visit family, and since they know I love Indian food they recommended this restaurant. It’s incredibly clean upon walking in, and everyone is so friendly and attentive! By far the best Indian restaurant I’ve tried in the Hudson Valley with efficient customer service. Warm, friendly, and inviting. They even gave us complimentary Mango icecream! I’m telling everyone about this place back home!!

I had the pleasure of dining at Great Indian Kitchen in Albany, and it exceeded all my expectations. The buffet offered an extensive selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, representing authentic flavors from both North and South Indian cuisines. Every dish I tried was delicious and full of traditional, rich taste.
The ambiance of the restaurant is warm, welcoming, and impeccably clean. It’s conveniently located just 5 minutes off the highway, making it an easy stop for anyone traveling on 87 N/S or 90 E/W in New York State. It’s the perfect spot for a break without a big detour, ideal for travelers seeking a quick yet fulfilling meal.
The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. I visited on a Saturday, and the buffet was superb, offering a wide variety of dishes at a very reasonable price. It’s a great opportunity to sample different Indian dishes if you’re new to the cuisine.
I would highly recommend Great Indian Kitchen to anyone in the area or passing through. A must-visit for lovers of authentic Indian food!

Chicken Chetinand and Palak Paneer were our dinner entree choices. Both dishes were flavorful. The portions were sizeable. The staff was attentive, polite, and knew the menu well. Reasonably priced.

Decent Indian restaurant with a lot of menu choices. Seasoning was on the light side, so if you want the heat you have to ask for it. I got the lamb Madras, which was tasty but very mild heat. My honey got the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was rather bland. I got extra hot sauce to add to it. One of our party got the hottest dish available on the menu, and enjoyed it. Wait staff is attentive and pleasant. There was a rather long wait between order time and getting the meals, so an appetizer is recommended.

If you are looking everyone with different food taste come to this place. They serve South? North, indo Chinese cuisine all very tasty. It is hard to find Indian restaurant that serves all these 3 different regions and do it well too. Foods were great. Service is what you expect from Indian restaurants. My dish came out almost after everyone ate theirs so that was a little frustrating but what can you do. Overall goos.

First time here today and it definitely did not meet my expectations. I’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants and this was the most bland, basic Indian food I’ve ever had. The garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had but the chicken tikka masala was extremely bland and kinda dry. The butter chicken tasted like it was reheated several times and the sauce had the flavor of Campbells tomato soup and not in a good way. The rice was sticking together and tasted old. It was kind of like an American style, no seasoning. The place was cute and clean and the staff were attentive and very nice.
