The food did not disappoint!!!…The Turkey necks were seasoned and tender on top of the bed of rice. The corn was buttery and the black eyed peas were reminiscent of how a Granny cooks them! The collard greens were zesty and thoroughly cooked which were complemented by a rich cornbread muffin. The dressing smothered in brown gravy was giving Thanksgiving vibes. A plate for $17 is worth the experience with no long waiting time. 9.5/ 10 is my score so I advise all to try Granny’s Soul Food!

There is a reason this place is called Granny’s Soul Food! The Barbecue Chicken is some of the best I’ve ever had outside of home-cooked! The collards have the perfect balance of flavors and the tea tastes exactly like grandma’s! And the staff is friendly! These “hole-in-the-wall” spots deserve more recognition!

Friendly employees. Great food. I only had sides and they were all good. The Mac n cheese was very creamy and filing. The green beans were seasoned well and so good. Make sure to try the fried potatoes. Mine were hot, crispy and so good. My friends had the fried chicken legs and had to wait about 15 minutes. I guess it was cooked to order, but it was worth the wait. She said it was crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside.

UPDATE: The same night I called and spoke with tha cashier that served me and told her exactly what i said in the video. She immediately said i could bring it back but i explained to her i live almost 45 minutes away. She then said i will let my sister knowbsince she will be here. I took the food back the next and still received the same customer service i did prior to purchasing the food. She apologized and asked if i wanted to replace it or get a refund. I said refund. She iniatiated the refund and apologized once more. I still plan on taking a break from Granny’s but at some point i will try again.
I will let the video speak for itself. Granny’s Soul Food, today i was disappointed with the food that was served to me

Order the fried pork chop with collard greens. Pork chops were fried to ordered and cooked perfect. The collard greens were good as well. Will definitely recommend and return.

My grandma is an amazing cook, but wasn’t feeling well and wanted me to find her some good southern food. She’s super picky but said this place was really good. She got the fried porkchop, cabbage, collards and rice and she had compliments for everything. The ladies inside were super nice and very helpful! Thank you for making my grandma happy!

My family and I just placed a large order, 4 pork chop dinners, 3 fish dinners, a beef rib tip dinner, a slice of lemon cake, and a sweet tea. Everything was good but I’m very disappointed in the slice of cake for $4.95. Ya’ll can do better it’s hardly a slice it’s so thin.

I ordered take from Granny’s Soul Food. My husband said that the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly.
I had the Fried Whiting Fish, Mac n Cheese, Fried Okra, and a Cornbread Muffin.
Overall, the food was good with some minor issues: The fish was well-seasoned and fried well, but it did not taste fresh; the mac n cheese could have used more cheese; and the okra needed a little more salt. The cornbread muffin was perfect! I look forward to trying them again!

If you haven’t eaten here before you need to! Some of the best Catfish around! If you know where better catfish is then please let me know. I’ve also tried the rib tips and the oxtail. Most of the sides are the absolutely amazing. I would only consider a couple of them as just “okay” (compared to everything else) I eat here every time I’m in the area. I’d probably be broke if I lived closer.

Some of the reviews had me nervous, because we know good soul food (having grown up in the Chi & the Nap and lived all over the United States) but being in town for just the weekend- Granny’s hit the spot!
The service was welcoming, friendly, and attentive! Even after our meal, they checked on us!
We had just hit up Pascal’s yesterday (which was really good), but Granny’s fried catfish, fried whiting and mac and cheese were more on point (sorry- just facts)!!! The squash, cabbage, rice and gravy, and green beans were perfect! The only thing that was a little over salted was the fried okra (2 shakes less and it would’ve been perfect)!
We can’t comment on the dessert yet because we are too full to eat them now, but we did order the peach cobbler, pound cake, and strawberry cake. Based off of what we’ve had so far, we will be back!
UPDATE- my husband couldn’t leave without taking a bite of the strawberry cake. He said it’s delicious!
