Grand Catch is a seafood-centric restaurant & bar in St. Paul’s Macalaster-Groveland neighborhood. Our menu emphasizes Chef Sameh Wadi’s take on traditional Louisiana seafood boils with an Asian-Cajun twist, as well as our own versions of classics like cheesy fries, crab dip, and our cult-favorite fried chicken sandwich. Sip on wine, beer, and craft cocktails while you crack crab claws and slurp on shrimp, and cool off with soft serve ice cream from Milkjam Creamery after your feast.

Southern-style shellfish, sandwiches & creative cocktails offered in a hip, colorful space.

Great service. Cool ambiance. Amazing food. Had the Crawfish and King Crab boil, cheese fries with lobster, and shrimp toast (my favorite). Surprisingly spicy – I like some spicy and their Mild was just right. Shrimp Toast made my mouth burn. I don’t think the level of spice is sustainable for Minnesota!

Went here last Saturday night with a good friend – very fun upbeat atmosphere & great food! We were on a shrimp theme that night but can’t wait to try more seafood boil options next time. Salt & Pepper shrimp were good, & kale avocado salad was fantastic… And then we had don’t serve ice cream, it was like cinnamon toast crunch in ice cream form – yum! Our server Elizabeth was top-notch – she helped us find our way through the menu & had great recommendations. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

Delicious and delightful. Went for brunch and Jennifer was really helpful talking us through the menu. Everything we had was really flavorful and super well-balanced (eg, the spicy things had a depth of flavor besides the heat). The awesome sauce for the boil is great, shrimp toast was crispy and good, and the king crab benedict was decadent. Do not sleep on the soft serve!

Yuuuummmmm! First time and I loved it.
We had a boil with awesome sauce and it was indeed awesome. Cocktails were also delicious! I had the Grand Old Fashion, Mez-call Me Saul (my fave of the three) and Boyfriends & Girlfriends.

Next time I’d definitely add rice to dump in to the sauce at the end and eat. I’d skip the Jonah crab claws. They are frustrating to eat and not worth it. I’d also eat at the bar instead of a table.

Tried this place for the first time, and was not disappointed. Ordered the medium catch with awesome sauce seasoning. It was very flavorful, and the assortment of seafood was very good. It was a little pricey at $62, but that’s what you pay for when you want quality seafood. Did not have to wait long for the order to arrive, and we were given all the utensils to eat without having to ask for anything else. Nice ambiance, would definitely come back for more.

Authentic seafood prepared the right way! Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. I got the special which came with over 4 oz. of lobster and my wife got the small portion seafood boil. Both dishes were very fresh!

Swung by for brunch, was not disappointed. I had the King Crab Benedict and Sweet Corn Pancakes, both were amazing. From the seafood I had I assume the rest of the menu is great as well. If you’re in the area I recommend stopping by.

Service was friendly and thorough! My family & I felt comfortable there. Has outdoor seatings in the front of restaurant on sidewalk areas which we preferred. Parking is off street. Cajun food was delicious ! Definitely be back. Overall atmosphere of dinning outdoor & feeling the Grand Ave vibe was nice.

I wanted to love this place, it’s such a cool concept. The decor is outstanding but the food and service were very disappointing.

I’m not sure if we were there on an off day or they are still getting their feet under them, but I haven’t had worse service in the Twin Cities in a long time. We had multiple food items and drink orders screwed up with nothing comped on our bill at the end. Worse, things they brought out by mistake they ended up charging us for even though it was their screw up.

We started out with cocktails:
Boyfriends and Girlfriends
Naken Horseback Ride
Both were delicious.

We moved to starters:
The chef definitely has a palette for spicy food. This stuff is definitely more then “Minnesota spiced”

Chinese Shrimp Toast is a really interesting concept. If you are at the Grand Catch, I would recommend ordering it.

Grand Catch Cheesy Fries: They are pretty much a poutine. Not a lot of crab or lobster comes on them and boy are they

The cold shrimp roll wasn’t worth anything. Not a lot of shrimp, a lot of mayo flavoring. Didn’t have a lot of fresh flavor.

Overall, the cocktails were the best part of our experience. So go for cocktails and the atmosphere but lower your expectations on food and service.

What a treat. The cheese fries were great, cocktails and adult slushies were on point, and the Crawfish in spicy isaan sauce were amazing. Cap it off with raspberry lychee soft serve, and I’m about to enter the best food coma I’ve had in months…
