We came to this restaurant for a date night because we heard about it reviews. Well, you walked in there is pretty empty but the restaurant was pretty old school set up. The Ambiance wasn’t bad for the fact that it was traditional Japanese set up. So the seats went inside the ground which was pretty cool.
The service on the other hand wasn’t the great, as you can tell the waitress really didn’t pay much attention to us. I had to waiver down a couple times. But the food itself was delicious wasn’t really fond of the fried shrimp inside of my sushi roll. But other than that, everything was wonderful.
I think I will go back in the future to order takeout over dine in.

Private room is cool! Service was spectacular. Salmon sashimi was very good. Thick slices. Soba was great. Eel was too dry though. Weird carrot tempura what was easy too raw in the middle. Croquette is basically a oily hash brown.

Good quality food and the fish has always been fresh. Get a seat at the sushi bar by Benny. The few times I’ve went, the Uni has been grade A. I really like the bacon wrapped cherry tomatoes among other things.

Tried their grilled fish tempora plate, bento box, tempora sushi with sake. Everything was delicious. The best tempora sushi I’ve had. All the items in the bento box also was amazing. Cooked to perfect and great flavor. The service was good expect some communication gap with the servers. The ambiance is like any normal Japanese restaurant, nothing extraordinary. Definitely recommend this sushi place in the Hayward area.

A big place with a big following. The parking lot is very busy. Good service – probably above four stars. They keep your tea mug full.
The food is just average. I liked their tempura but the short ribs were average. More undercooked than my preference and led to mild intestinal discomfort. The side vegetables were awful. All you got were a handful of cheap carrots and were unevenly cooked.
Prices were high. Make sure you shell out extra cash.

Let me just start by saying I’ve been coming here since my son was a newborn. He’s 18 now and he goes there every week himself!! I love the freshness of their sushi rolls. I have been there enough to have had everything on the menu and it never gets old. My faves are the miso soup (its flavorful), rainbow roll, the 49er roll, OMG roll, deluxe california roll and they put REAL crab meat inside. The wasabi is always soft and fresh. Their bento boxes are perfect and so are their portions. If you drink alcohol, the cocktails are very good, the Sapporo beer comes to you with a cold glass, and wine, the plum wine is a great dessert wine. I have celebrated birthdays and graduations there. The staff is the best!! I have relocated 45 mins away and will STILL drive to Tomadachi at least 2-3 times a month for their sushi! Don’t think twice just go in. If you go on a Friday make reservations, it’s usually pretty busy. In any case, I hope you enjoy!!!

I will say this was a really good spot for quality sushi. Ordered the Spicy CA Roll and New York Roll and both were exceptional. The only criticism would be the place looked closed at first. The bonus here was just an add on touch of providing a hot, damp towel. Good atmosphere and the workers are very quick and on their feet. Great service, great food!

My friends and I got a private room which was a really nice space. Tons of options on the menu. I got two rolls, the rainbow spider and kirin rolls, and our server was incredible! The birthday mango mousse was also really refreshing after all that food! Overall a great experience and I will definitely be going back.
