I grew up on goose island fish, then raised my 4 children on it, I have since been gone from the area, for more than 20+ years, and always, moving to the far far south side, my children and I make plans to go back to goose island, as the service and the people has not changed. We absolutely love this place. What a treat

New hours are absurd compared to hours before Covid. Food still great but hours make it unaccessible which is unacceptable for me

The fish is always worth it. I stop by whenever I come into Chicago. The place isn’t the best. It’s all about the food and not the atmosphere. And I would definitely suggest phoning in your order because the wait times can be long.

Hey y’all, I have loved Goose Island since high school ‘Class of 1984’. I don’t live close but I had a craving for some scallops. Unfortunately, the scallops were rough and dingy, not the plump white scallops in used to from them. Then, I got the catfish and it wasn’t done and the flour was showing and not fully cooked. I’m too far away to go back. Which means my Jones was not satisfied and I gave away my hard earned cash. So sad.

Batter was good, fish and shrimp were cooked just right. Wished there was a little more flavor on the batter. Maybe that was what the hot sauce was for, but I wasn’t a fan of the hot sauce. Would’ve preferred just some Louisiana hot sauce.

One of the few places I would not recommend if you actually like fried shrimp. Ive heard of this place most my food conscious life. The Jumbo Shrimp reminded me of over cooked corn dogs. I never knock fried cat fish. .. Its one of my ubber favorites but the catsfish bites I got at goose island still had Bones in it! If you cant do something so simple why would I bother woth anything else. All my friends that recommended goos island to me got an ear full.
