And the tiramisu deserves its own moment…wow…genuinely outstanding.
The kindness of the owner and staff matches the food and makes the whole place feel special. A real gem and absolutely worth experiencing again and again.
The food is outstanding. The vegan protein game here is seriously strong. Everything we tried was flavorful, satisfying, and made with real care. You leave full and energized, not wondering where the protein went. Every dish felt intentional and well thought out.
The owner is an absolute gem. So kind, warm, and genuinely cares about the people who walk through the door. That human touch mattered more than she probably knows and made this place feel comforting and special.
And the tiramisu deserves its own shoutout. Hands down one of the best vegan desserts I have ever had. Rich, balanced, and just perfect. We kept coming back for it and it never disappointed.
Good Karma Cafe is more than just a restaurant. It is a place with heart. Incredible food, amazing people, and a space that genuinely helped us get through a hard stretch. If you are anywhere near Red Bank, this place is worth the trip. We will absolutely be back.
During our latest trip we stopped at Good Karma to pick-up dinner on the way to my parent’s house. We ordered the Love Bowl, Gado Gado Salad, and the Live Nachos.
Issues:
1) The Gado Gada salad was a big miss. It’s supposed to include lettuce, tofu, cabbage, carrots, roasted peanuts, and a sesame seed mix. There was ZERO sesame seed mix and literally ONE roasted peanut. We had asked the tofu be swapped for beans, which did happen, but basically all my wife got was a salad with lettuce and beans.
2) Live Nachos: what a HUGE disappointment. I’ve had these a number of times in the past and was really looking forward to these. One of my favorite parts has always been the creamy cashew sour cream. THIS TIME, there was one small dollop of the cashew cream. We basically paid $15 for a box of seasoned lettuce with 8 nacho chips — not nearly enough chips to even eat with our seasoned lettuce.
The Love Bowl, fortunately, was on par with my past experiences. However, the experience still left me questioning whether it’s worth returning to Good Karma next time.
Food:
Loaded nachos- great but i wish they were warm like normal nachos. Got soggy really fast and everything was hidden under like the lettuce and beans- didnt love the way it was served but overall really tasty
Mac and cheese- awful did not taste like mac and cheese at all. Ive had good vegan mac and cheese before and this one was just not done well
Spinach and artichoke dip- really tasty but it says its served with garlic toast, thats a lie, Ours was just plain bread no garlic flavor and not toasted.
I might return to try their other stuff but wasnt overly impressed as a vegan
