This is a must visit spot! The grounds are beautiful, the team is so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was great and so fresh. My kids loved hitting a few buckets of golf balls and playing corn hole. Nice selection of alcohol and plenty to do.

My husband and I chose Golden Sands as our wedding venue mainly due to how absolutely gorgeous the course is but also because I was/am obsessed with their Buffalo Mac and Cheese pizza and tequila sunrise mimosas. Our wedding day was a rainy one but they had a tent big enough for all of our wedding guest to fit under while still having a dance floor. This place is so great and they offer so many family events for everyone to enjoy!

We arrived and the place was busy! (Which was a good feeling, having not been there, knowing it’s a good place to be.) Walking up to the building, I noticed a lot of conversation and laughter (again, another good feeling that it’s a good place to be).
Ordering: When you walk in, you order your food, go mingle, find a table, hit a bucket of balls, whatever, until they page/text you that your order is ready. I felt SO safe ordering here with a Gluten and Dairy allergy. Everything is separated. And… the GF options…..!!!! Pizza, Subs, Chicken Tenders, Rice Bowls, Salads, and more! I was in GF heaven here!
Atmosphere: There are families and couples and large and small groups. There are yard games for kids (and adults), there is a practice putting area and the Bucket of Balls driving practice area. There are also trails, which my daughter enjoyed with her friends.
Food: Amazing! The GF Chicken Tenders….. seriously THE best I have ever had. Not kidding. I would order them by the case if I could. That good. My husband enjoyed his non-allergy-eat-everything sub that he ordered as well. Portions are very good, price is very good, service was very good.
Overall: I regret not coming down sooner in my life, and will be bringing my entire family back here often. Definitely worth the drive and price for what you are getting!!

Food here was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our pepperoni pizza with the herb crust and the garlic knots We beat the dinner rush on a Saturday and I’m so glad we did because it was crazy busy when we left (certainly a good sign we picked a solid spot). Drink refills were self-serve with a dispenser inside and out, which was so convenient. Food pickup was outside, as well as a bar to place drink orders for convenience. They also had a large Connect 4 game to play, which the kids loved. Highly recommended.

The food is delicious! The cheese steak sandwich seems smaller than most other restaurants, but it was delicious. There is plenty of seating, but the parking lot seems small.

Absolutely amazing delicious food. The first place I’ve ever been to that had not only baked chicken strips, but also baked tater tots. Large variety of wine, and delicious food, the atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed, live music was playing. If you’re in the mears area, definitely worth checking out. Everyone was super nice and made sure you enjoyed your time. Again, I can’t stress this enough, the food was delicious. Also note, there are about 2 vegan options available if you have someone that is a vegan. Which was a nice surprise to find at this little piece of heaven in the middle of rural upper Michigan. Worth giving a shot!

I have been meaning to get around to this review. Visited the silver lake area with family for the week of 7/4, played several rounds here and even came back later with the family for food and drinks. Let me first say Alicia and staff are the best! Incredibly welcoming and made every visit a pleasure.
The course is like a 9 hole executive style course, but plays great and fits the land very well. Take those shoes off and have some fun!
As a previous golf professional myself it was great seeing the atmosphere they had there and allowing dogs on the course has been something I’ve always been behind, here dogs are family too!
The pizza was the best I’ve ever had at any golf course and most national spots, the bar has everything you need and is in my opinion the best bar in the silver lake area

Please give this place a try, don’t expect championship golf, but you can expect a championship experience

Beautiful place, would have stayed longer if we weren’t on a time constraint. Mac and cheese pizza was great.

Our food took a long time to come out. With it being the 4th and a busy day we knew that was what we were getting into. Our food buzzer never went off so we went to check on it. Our order was up under the warmer and ready, so we were told we could take it back. Our food came out lukewarm, 2 pizzas and tatertots with queso. The queso was cold and hardened on top. Upon telling staff we were told this was typical. “Long wait times and food sitting under the warmer is just how our system works”, said the female manager who ended up being THE OWNER!!! She argued that it couldn’t be cold because it was under a warmer, which she said all their food sits there typically for 10 minutes before being picked up. Brings us a new order of tots and she said “I hope this works for your family”. She offered to remake everything, with up to a 45 minute wait. she said she would fast track it but it had the potential for a 45 minute wait. We clearly don’t have the wait on a holiday. What was disheartening was the excusing away and it was our fault for not checking in on our order premature to our buzzer that never went off. The pepperoni pizza for the kids was eaten, and good to them. The tell tale sign was the kids could gobble up the pizza since it was only lukewarm, arguably a good temp for the 4 year old. Like I said, she offered to remake everything but just the zero accountability for our buzzer not going off and our food sitting, it’s just the way this business is run, but they do the “best they can”. We usually love this spot, atmosphere is amazing, just sad to be told that food sitting for 10 mins is typical. The adults ate a couple pieces of what typically would have been polished off. Being told it was our fault for not checking it and the waiting/ sitting is just how they work wasn’t good enough. Then her arguing that we were at fault and us saying we don’t think it was our fault, she called us mean and belittling. While she offered numerous ways to “make it right” by remaking food and then finally an employee discount what we were sad to hear that was the way she treated customers. If she started with let’s get you a fresh order instead of it can’t be cold it sits under a warmer and a 10 min sit time is typical, I truly think we would have left happier. To offer that only after the arguing kind of sailed the ship.

This restaurant has a nice location. It has decent atmosphere. The amenities for children and adults are impressive. All of that is great.

If, however, you have come to this establishment to eat, well then you are in trouble. Orders take 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or even longer.

I recently visited and I ordered shortly before 7:00 PM. My food completion window came. And went. Nothing. No notification. No notice. I went directly to the pickup counter to inquire. Everyone who had ordered before (and after) had already gotten their food. My order? The nice, but extremely young and inexperienced girl couldn’t even locate my order. She had to ask me my name — four times. My children were starving and my friends gave them bites of of their own children’s plates.

At the end of the experience my wife and I went to speak to the manager. A woman wearing light grey / white khakis and glasses came over. Other reviews indicate she is the owner. We explained our situation respectfully. She scoffed at us. Laughed at our discomfort and inconvenience and told us the wait “was the same as everyone else.”

There are two issues here. One is that the owner / manager will not own up to the quality of her service and even belittles her customers. What do they matter, they’re all tourists anyhow. The other issue is the fact that restaurants are well run when they have quick turnaround. Quick turnaround requires fast preparation and delivery of orders. Although she may be stuck in a paradigm from 30 years ago, there are clearly ways that food can be cooked most efficiently and quickly. Although the front of the house needs work, clearly the back of the house is in even worse shape.

Will not be coming back again, despite the fact we will be returning to Silver Lake for years to come.
