We had a good and fresh meal after a couple hours driving. I had a “trim and slime” 🙂 grilled tasty chicken with peaches and some cottage cheese and egg. My husband had gyro sandwich. Very nice service!

Had a nice lunch when it was dessert time my meal came with ice cream Which I told my husband he could have, so my husband said he would like peppermint ice cream with a bit of chocolate on it. As the waitress Heidi was walking away she shook her head like Oh my gosh type of way and while she’s at the counter getting the ice cream she proceeded to loudly say it’s just surprising how regular guests that come all the time thinking they can get whatever they Want I didn’t think a line of chocolate across an ice cream would Be difficult She continued to talk about us and so loudly I said just give us a ice cream we don’t need the chocolate and I would have been more than happy to pay for a little bit of chocolate. She proceeded to come to the table and say well I wasn’t gonna charge you $3 for chocolate and I said we would have more than happy to paid for it And I said most waitresses will wait till customer leaves to talk about them and she said no I like to talk about people right in front of their face I thought that was very rude and No way to treat a customer that goes there often So needless to say we’ll have to find a new place to go I hope HEIDI treats other customers better

Stopped by and tried the Italian Omelette. Not bad. Service was excellent, brought me water to go with the meal without asking. Nowadays when I order coffee most establishments make me ask for it. Server was very polite and attentive and my coffee cup never approached empty.

The food is fine but I ordered a hot turkey sandwich delivery and it was supposed to come with cranberry sauce and soup. Got neither. Just writing to say that you should put the same consideration and thought to takeout/delivery orders as you do with people sitting down in your restaurant. I highly doubt you would forget all their sides lol.

Ordered this through Door dash. The order was correct as in the items were right.
The order was : Ham omelet with extra cheese X3, hashbrowns, gravy, sausage. Monte Cristo, cream of potato soup, chocolate cream pie, & large chocolate milk.
The staff was courteous on the phone when asked for soups of the day.
A have a few issues.
(1) First of all the “large” chocolate milk wasn’t even 8oz let alone considered to be a “large”. I’m scared to see what a small is, the size of a shot perhaps?
(2) They put the packets of concord grape jelly directly on the food (sitting on the omelet). That’s weird to me. I would have expected it in the same bag as the soup utensils. I don’t know where those sit.
(3) The cream of potato soup had a decent flavor. However. The potato piece sizes were so large! Good Lord. Seemed like a quarter of a potato. So just be prepared to cut down your potato before you eat it. But flavor was decent, had to add pepper, but I do that with a lot of cream soups and I don’t consider that a negative.

Our food was good. But there were quite a few Nats around, on and flying by our food. Told the waitress and she said “oh yeah I know, they spray every night” not 1 smile from her the whole time she waited on us. Come on, plzzzz at least fake being nice. Amber I don’t really think this is your type of job.

My friend wanted to go here today. I ordered the tuna melt because I love tuna melts. I got partly through the first half, but couldn’t do it. The tuna was nasssty. Tasted like vinegar and there were weird stringy pieces of dark looking muscle or something in it. YUCK ! The fries were cold, too. So… I decided to re-order the hobo skillet. Hash browns were really greasy & burned. Cheese not melted at all. We still had to pay for that & my friend’s meal plus the nasty tuna because I had eaten part of the first half of the sandwich. I will not go back there. If my friend wants to go back, she can go alone.
She ordered spaghetti off the senior meals and it was cold, too. I saw an employee or owner, older lady, maybe in her fifties, not sure of her age, come out of the bathroom, wiping her hands on her apron and then promptly handling dishes. Shortly after, I went to the bathroom. It smelled musty & dirty in there. Our waitress was fine but this place is a dive.
$40 wasted on very disgusting food. From now on, I’ll go to Chick-a-dee or AJ’S.
The gold mine is disgusting. Only good thing was the canned Dr Pepper. The owner & management should be embarrassed. Absolutely disgusting !!!!

I go to Golden when visiting the locals. I ordered liver and onions; they were as dry as a hockey puck. On a different visit, I ordered the chicken, which was good. The cream of chicken rice soup is not bad. The servers, as we put our order in, we asked for utensils and extra napkins, we had to ask a second time as our food arrived. Having our table cleared between servings should be a no-brainer. I’ve never seen more than three other tables served, so why the subpar service? My to-go order was a four-piece dark chicken with soup and salad (S&S) and a four-piece white chicken with S&S. I was charged for a four-piece white chicken and received two pieces. I would never return to Golden, if not for my local friends, who seem to like it.

After a few long hours on the road I was in the mood for some afternoon pancakes. Even though breakfast was long past they still got the morning menu out for me and my bud and we enjoyed a hearty meal at sundown. Overall, it’s comfortable, inexpensive and has great atmosphere. Would go again.
