Food was cooked way too fast in my opinion
Plain lo mein with chicken no veggies tasted too oily the chicken doesn’t taste like chicken at all it’s too chewy. Wonton soup was ok but inside the wonton dumplings the meat looked dark and unappealing. Friend said the food looks like the bubble guts. Portions are really good for 1 person. I guess diarrhea is on its way. Price should be about 8 bucks for this not 17 won’t return unless I’m desperate for something quick by my job

I love this place – In from it of town and make regular trips to Bethesda and this is over off my favorite restaurants – five stars both for the food and the atmosphere. It’s take out only but the place gives such a genuine vibe – people working hard and enjoying what they do. And the food is always beautiful!

I honestly can’t tell if people are being blackmailed into writing one-star reviews for this restaurant or if their experiences were just that bad, but I completely disagree with the low ratings! While Golden House Chinese Restaurant doesn’t offer indoor seating, they more than make up for it with their incredible food. I’ve been coming here for a long time, and it’s about time I left an honest review.
The food here is simply AMAZING. I’ve ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken several times, and every single time, I’ve been blown away by the flavor and quality. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.
If you’re looking for a quick bite that doesn’t compromise on taste, I highly recommend Golden House Chinese Restaurant. It’s easily one of my favorite spots to grab delicious Chinese food.
Quick Note: The first photo is orange chicken with no broccoli and the second photo is the seasme chicken combo, which comes with an eggroll, pork fried rice and broccoli. I would highly recommend getting the combo just because their pork fried rice is really good but you do get a little bit less chicken. And if you are ordering the combo, you do not get white rice with it as you would normally.

Terrible customer service. They are very rude on the phone and demand a huge tip. I left them a tip and they felt like it wasn’t enough and she told me never to order from them again. I understand times are hard and i planned on giving her a cash tip. Although i already left a tip online. I will never order from here again. Food is mid.

The food is okay, something to eat if you are really hungry or want to grab something quick. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and the Pepper Steak combo, I liked the Mongolian Beef slightly better but overall was not blown away by the taste of the food. The taste of the fried rice was not what I expected in comparison to other fried rice dishes I have had. There is no place to sit down inside the restaurant but the hosts were friendly and the food was prepared quickly.

My relatives came into town and they’re vegan, so I decided to give this place a try! I placed a phone order for 3 dishes! All dishes I ordered were really good! Veggie fried rice, vegan lo mein and broccoli oyster dish! Took 10 mins to prep! Really nice worker.

This Chinese joint is actually pretty decent. I have no complaints about it. It gets 4 stars for food and 5 for service, but only a 1 for atmosphere, simply because it just doesn’t have any. It’s not meant to. It’s strictly a takeout Chinese joint, and they do an excellent job.
The only reason it gets a 4 for food, is because it’s not the best Chinese takeout, but it is still very, very good. It’s definitely worth it.
I don’t think its intention is to be the best, but rather good eats for a decent price, with quick service. I mean, they are so fast, that the food is practically ready before you’re even done paying for it. Which of course, isn’t the case, but you get the idea.
At any rate, this place is worth a try if you haven’t been here before.

Ordered Chicken Curry and barely 1/3 of the bowl is chicken, with a mountain of onion ontop and underneath. Also ordered some shrimp toast and it was burned but the middle was undercooked and mushy. When i called to order the lady answered with “what” and had an attitude while taking my order.
This is my second time ordering from here, i ordered kung pao chicken last time and my bowl again was more celery and peanuts with barely any chicken at all.
The bowls look like theyre prepaired in advance and then just put in a microwave.
All in all terrible. Wouldn’t recommend. ♂️
