Does anyone know why Sushi Japan on 144th and Center closed?

I must’ve missed their ramen, don’t recall ever having a good one in Omaha.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Omaha. I tried mostly all of them. Every time i am working in Omaha this is the place i always go to at least once. I eat sushi at all the cities i work in, i was surprise to find such a hidden gem in Omaha out of all places. I usually get the sashimi deluxe or chirashi. The owners are Japanese which make sense why the quality of the fish is above average. Prices are very reasonable, and the places is nice and clean.

Food was typical Japanese. They do have a “do it yourself” hibachi at a lot of the tables. Unfortunately our hibachi was out of order. Kind of a let down. The sushi roll itself was small but adequate. The main course was decent. I did leave still hungry. The waiter never refilled our drinks. It seemed like we were almost forgotten in the front room while the larger crowds were in back. I prob won’t be back as I can get better service and wider food selection for the same or less money at plenty of other Japanese places around the Omaha area.

The food was amazing, and the owner walked around and greeted customers and their families! They may have been a little short staffed since after we received our food and drinks, it took a while to get our check when we had finished up. We will for sure be coming back next time we are in Omaha!

Very delicious food and a great atmosphere. It can be a little pricy, but the quality and quantity of the meal makes up for it. Excellently staffed with very friendly servers. Definitely my go-to place for Japanese cuisine.

Tasty and unique sushi menu. I have had great experiences with their food. Whenever we get the meat to grill ourselves it’s always a fun and different experience that I’m unfamiliar with elsewhere. They do have a happy hour too. My only negative is that they don’t have crab rangoons, which I love. Otherwise, it’s totally a hidden gem for anyone in Omaha who loves sushi.

I moved to Omaha from San Diego in December 2007. I found this place and have been going here ever since! I tried other sushi places but none compare. If you want authentic, delicious, decent prices, great atmosphere and awesome employees…its Sushi Japan all day every day. 9 years later and I still go once a month. Love it!

This is some of the best sushi in Omaha. The venue is small and quaint, so call for a table ahead of time for busy nights. Sometimes the service is not the greatest, but this has been rare for me. Overall, they have very creative and delicious rolls, and the sashimi is very fresh and well prepared/displayed.

The best sushi in Omaha for my money. I have been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the experience. Service has been prompt. The sushi is also very reasonably priced, especially for the quality and presentation that you get.

Sushi Japan was amazing! It’s too bad it will be closing at the end of April 2019.
