Went last night after not being there for a while. Great buzz. Good crowd. Good menu. My steak and chips arrived quite cold but the manager was all over it (couldn’t easily get our waiters attention) – heated it right up and the took the price of the dish off the bill. Great service. The waiter oddly never mentioned it nor came back to ask how things were (the manager did). I thanked the manager on the way out for his prompt attention. That’s what I call excellent customer service.
By the way the service charge is included in the bill I’m not sure many people see that written on the menu.

This place is upscale (inside) with matching pricing ($$$) in a dilapidated town with a poor parking situation. I was really hoping it would be a hidden find. The chicken sandwiches and mini burgers were mediocre; I’m not sure why they asked how we wanted the mini burgers if they were going to cook them all the same way. The charcuterie board was delicious, but not worth the 2 hour drive. Maybe those with more refined palates would enjoy the other foods here. For a normal family this is a no-go and not worth the experience. Staff was very friendly and we love the living wage/no tipping policy. This actually made us want to tip more.
My son requested a stop at The Cheese Shop for his 16th birthday. We purposefully lined up a lunch date to coincide with going to the Cheese Shop, located inside Glasshalfull using the hours of operation on their website. These hours are NOT correct.

I’d been wanting to try this place for a while & met a friend for lunch. I had the savory egg tart, although the egg custard was smooth, the crust was like a frozen “store-bought”, which was disappointing. Too bad.

Dined on the leafy patio on a delightful evening. Excellent and reasonably priced wine list. Many options are gluten free, including the dessert menu, which is unusual. I highly recommend the arugula and beet salad. My husband had the hangar steak and I had the short rib. Both absolutely scrumptious. The duck leg special sounded delicious, but, unfortunately, they had sold out by the time we arrived. We split the lemon olive oil drizzle cake for dessert, a perfect ending to a fine meal. Our server was new, but charming and helpful. We will return soon.

Was disappointed they no longer have steak frites but was offered some hanger steak which was too complicated and did not taste as well. So the best item on menu was the scallops.
Rustic restaurant with wide range of wines, service was excellent but food not up to expectations for that price point, only the scallops live up to our high expectations.

Was happy with every part of the meal. The brussel app was an excellent start, my cocktail was quite good and the grilled fish was delicious. The brownie dessert was quite good as well. Overall, an excellent meal in an attractive environment. Next time we want to sit at the patio under the lights.

This place is delicious! The menu is clearly marked with gluten free and nut free options. They have a separate fryer for those who can’t be exposed to cross contamination. The menu had a lot of options and definitely more of a menu for foodies. We had the steak frites and scallops and shared plates. They also brought out some gluten free crackers they make in house and Wow- we loved them. We finished off the night with the budino and hands down it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great meal!

Went here for a sweet valentines day dinner and wasn’t disappointed.
Multiple vegetarian and vegan options.
They have a large collection of wines and many recommended their Höpler.
Would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. We were stuck in traffic on I-40 and were almost 20 min late but they were really sweet to accommodate us with zero wait time.
It is an expensive place to dine at but it’s okay to splurge once in a while. 🙂

Expensive for small portions however the food was great. The cost of a few items was high likely because it was Valentine’s day. There were few good vegan and vegetarian options but not a lot. Drinks and desserts were amazing and would definitely recommend it.

2022: we still enjoy dining here – we probably have lunch here more often than dinner. Wonderful food and ambiance.
2019: This is probably our favorite dinner spot in Carrboro. Service and food is consistently amazing. It’s where we go to give ourselves a treat – even if it’s a midweek dinner.
