Great location, plenty of parking and 3 areas for groups. Fun bar, lights on shelves of glasses that change colors. BUT the food and specials are divine! Start with Pineapple Scallops, Oysters Rockfeller, Crab Hush puppies. Add a Pina Colada/Peach/Mango with or without alcohol and in a glass or pineapple…fun! Main dishes are unique and save some room for yummy desserts. Must stop here EVERY TIME you are in Charlotte. Did I mention fresh catch of the day?

Overall the food was good. I went mid afternoon so there wasn’t anybody else there. Staff were very helpful. I had fried green tomatoes and fish and chips. The fried green tomatoes were nicely cooked. The fish and chips was very good. I really liked the smaller pieces of fish versus one giant piece. They were nicely beaded. I really liked the coke slaw as well. I would recommend this place.

Nice, Low-key atmosphere. Went around 6pm on a Friday night and got right in. Sat in bar area and ordered apps. Had the special, scallops with garlic sauce and parmesan, that was out of this world. The side salad with lemon vinaigrette was the size of a meal, with a healthy compliment of greens, cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes. Collards were delightful. They have an outdoor area I will try the next time I go.

After a full day in Charleston, we stopped off at Gilligan’s to wait for the traffic to die down. I wasn’t hungry but couldn’t pass up fresh seafood. We were greeted and seated right away around 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
The restaurant is a casual place and more like a bar. The dining area was clean, and the bathrooms were fine. The staff were helpful and friendly.
I wasn’t hungry, but I could not pass up ordering the Grilled Seabass with shrimp. For the sides, I ordered the collards, and I paid $1 extra for asparagus. We started off with raw oysters, which were fresh and had good flavor. The Gilligan’s Stew is similar to a fish boil or seafood boil. There were plenty of shrimp and sausage. While I was not hungry, I could not bypass ordering the Seabass. I ate the whole fish! It was not overly seasoned, and better yet, it was not fried. The grilled shrimp was seasoned well, and I could eat it tail on.

The value of the food and price were worth it. I paid almost the same amount at a place in Edisto Island and had a quarter of the food. There isn’t a relaxing ambiance, but the food was great.

I visit here when I am in the Charleston area, which is mostly in the winter and early spring.

Each time the waite staff has been extremely helpful and attentive. No matter what else is going on, they always are on point.

The gumbo is very good as are the grouper bites. The flounder is also very good.

I prefer sitting in the enclosed patio area which seems to be more comfortable although I have been inside for dinner as well. Just a different feel.

I would highly recommend this location to anyone.

My friend and I had came during a slow time right after lunch before dinner. Wasn’t crowded yet. The food was excellent. We had enough for another meal. Nice atmosphere and our waitress was the best.

Right near our Campground, so we thought we would try it. Very bar-like, which is fine.
Has indoor and deck seating. The free Hushpuppies for the table were greasy and taste-less. Popcorn Shrimp & Fries were taste-less. The Tarter Sauce just tasted like Mayo. My husband said his Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was good. Don’t think we’ll go back. Too many other better restaurants around.
