Gigino Trattoria is a solid Italian spot with a nice, open space that’s great for a relaxed meal. The food is good, but it didn’t stand out as much as some other Italian places in the area.

Service was okay but not the best. Everyone was pleasant, but it wasn’t very attentive and we had to get their attention a few times.

Dessert was the highlight and definitely worth ordering, though it felt pricey for the portion size. Overall, a good option for the neighborhood, just not my top Italian pick nearby.

It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat outside under an umbrella. We truly enjoyed the fresh delicious food and great service, and you can’t beat the view!

UPDATE: We visited Gigino’s in their more recent location in Tribeca. Still exceptional food and service. Lovely interior. We loved the friendly gal who served us. They also served delicious fresh bread. Not many restaurants even offer bread anymore. The pasta was so fresh and the portions were perfect. As you can see from the photos , the portions are generous. I had the Farfalle (bowtie pasta) Isabella . A delicious balance of flavors with a little smokiness from the roasted broccoli and a little heat from red peppers in the sauce. Perfectly cooked Farfalle. My sister had the Lemon Chicken also delicious and had a light lemony sauce to sop up with the crusty bread.
Also a very clean bathroom! 5 stars all around!

A very cozy Italian restaurant. We found this place due to Google reviews as we were visiting the world trade center memorial. It is a short walk but well worth it. We had pizza and vodka pasta. They were absolutely delicious. The service was perfect. We would definitely return on our next NYC trip.

I was in NYC for a quick work trip and stopped in for a quick bite to eat before bolting off to the airport. I assumed I’d be offered a salad or some basic pasta with red sauce as my option if I wanted something vegan. I was totally wrong! They had a fully vegan option on the menu which was a beet pasta and it was amazing! Pasta was cooked perfectly, extremely clean and fresh tasting, and also very filling. So much better than any meal I could have got a JFK!

Beyond thrilled I stumbled into this place and would absolutely go back.

We have been dining here for almost 25 yrs yet my first review. Two words – Always Amazing ! The food / menu are consistently great, just like the service. I’ve taken everyone in my family here at some point. Great wine list too. A nice treat to see Patti and Bob there today . Cheers again from our family to all of you. ❤️Grazie Mille a tutti

I’m going to be honest I was super excited to try this restaurant. We ordered the rice ball appetizer and let the waiter know that we were going to share it (2 people), and he said great. They bring over the rice ball appetizer and it’s literally one small rice ball on a plate. Given, it was very tasty. But you think he would’ve said that it only came with one piece and maybe suggest we get two orders? For the mains we each ordered a pasta. I had the gnocchi with veal meatballs. The gnocchi was mushy and bland. The meatball was okay, but they were the size of a meatball that you see in an Italian wedding soup (small). My friend had the pesto ravioli and she liked it. Overall, very expensive for one rice ball and two plates of pasta. Would NOT come back.
