We had a wonderful meal here. We arrived without booking and the small restaurant was pretty full. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and very attentive. We had a lovely meal and really enjoyed our evening here. We’ll definitely be returning, when we visit Carlisle again. This restaurant is just a few yards away from the Travelodge Central and a short walk from the train station.

Giannis Pizzeria is a true gem! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly, and the place has a cosy charm that’s perfect for a relaxed meal.
The pizza was absolutely delicious, fresh, full of flavour, and made with care. You can really taste the quality in every bite.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food in a lovely setting. We’ll definitely be back!

It was ok but wouldn’t go back. The food was disappointing and pretty bland- caprese salad starter was tasteless- seemed like supermarket tomatoes and mozzarella so would expect much better quality in an Italian. Mussels starter was ok but very small portion and no finger bowls or wipes/napkins. Main course aubergine parmigiana was good but very oily. Service not great either.

We were running late to find a spot for quick dinner in Carlisle and managed to locate a parking spot and Gianni’s pretty much at the same time.
Staff checked with the chef to see if they could servr 2 more diners before closing. All okay and we were seated. We ordered sharpish as we were aware of the time. Food was fresh and served quickly.
We had a lovely chat with the owner’s daughter and the staff were also very engaging. Apparently Gianni’s has been running for 3 decades and the photos around the restaurant documents its history and all the fun revellers have had down the years at Gianni’s.
