Gerber’s Joint is a fantastic food truck we discovered by chance while passing through the area. We decided to stop and try their fish tacos — and they were absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked, topped with fresh ingredients and a touch of mango, adding a sweet, tropical note that made every bite stand out.
The setup is simple but charming. Next to the food truck, there are a few outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal surrounded by nature. The atmosphere is peaceful, with mountains in the background and fresh air all around — it’s the kind of place where eating outdoors really adds to the experience.
We sat there, enjoying our tacos in this beautiful setting, and honestly, even while writing this, I’m tempted to go back just to grab a few more for the road. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t miss the chance to stop — it’s a small, casual spot, but the food and setting make it unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Super tasty tacos, burritos, and rice bowls. We had a little of everything and had no complaints! We especially like the chicken, which was shredded style. They only have one table though, so plan accordingly if you want to eat there. Def recommend!

Excellent service. Great food (especially the steak!). We got grilled cheese tacos and a burrito. We were able to bring our pup too, which was so nice. They gave us a locally made dog biscuit for her and she loved it.

The long line says it all! Try this food! So fresh and really hearty! We had the pork burrito with both sauces on the table (green and red) plus sour cream and salsa. The sauces and salsa are made in-house. Will definitely be back. We were at the Get Down in Burlington.

Situated right next to Cambridge Cannabis in Jeffersonville. I was super impressed with their beef Grilled Cheese Tacos. Worth getting the Three for like $19.00. My son had the fish tacos and said they were awesome!

The ingredients are fresh. The service is great. I ordered the grilled cheese steak tacos. I found it was just okay. The steak was unfortunately overcooked so it was dry and tough to bite into. When I first heard of grilled cheese tacos, I assumed that there would be melted cheese inside of the taco shellz just like a grilled cheese but instead it was cooked on the outside of the taco so it was almost like a cooked cheese kind of a taste, rather than a grilled cheese flavor which I wasn’t much of a fan of. It tasted very salty. My friend ordered the same thing as me but she did taste a little bit of a fish flavor so maybe there was a little bit of a cross-contamination when handling the food there. They should be careful because some people have fish allergies. Not sure what happened there. I would have given four stars had the steak bites not been overcooked and dried out.

BY FAR Mexican food I’ve had in the east. Raised in Nevada so I know good Mexican! I’m a regular and my favorite is the steak or chicken Cali burrito. Definitely check them out!

Gerber’s Joint is SO GOOD! We have tried so many different taco places over the years all over Florida, California, Arizona and elsewhere and these are by far the freshest and best quality tacos we’ve had. Tacos (especially those at taco trucks) obviously tend to be made with the cheapest possible ingredients – they might be good, but just know you’re getting the cheap stuff. Not here!! They even use homemade heirloom corn for their tortillas, which is the best quality you can get for tortillas!! We come up to Smuggs every year and this is SUCH a welcome addition to Jeffersonville. Now there are two fantastic, high-quality food truck-like places here.
Be sure to try their grilled cheese tacos – DO NOT get the regular ones because the grilled cheese ones are just so much better! They have grilled crispy cheese all along the entire outside of the tortillas – amazing. You can get a variety of meats in your order (we got 1 chicken, 1 carne asada and 2 carnitas) – the carne asada and carnitas were our favorite meats! The green salsa is a great addition as well – make sure to ask for some.
And if you’re getting tacos, come on Tuesday!! They have a great deal on Tuesdays!! However, there are different deals other days of the week as well. All in all, an amazing place, and one that definitely deserves your business!

We were looking for a stop on a cross-states trip (from Wisconsin to Maine), and found this along on our route. The tacos were amazing (the pork were our favorites, but the chicken was a close second). Worth getting the cheese tacos! Our girls had some quesadillas that they loved. We would go a bit out of our way to swing by on a future trip.
