This counter-service Western-themed BBQ restaurant specializes in ribs smoked over an oak fire.

Old world charm with just ok food. The sauce was bleak on the pulled pork sandwich and Mac n cheese looks eerily like Kraft Mac and Cheese. The sauce is tangy and has a minor bite to it, wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. Two pulled porks with side of Mac and fries with a vanilla shake was over $47 bucks.
Overall, It’s serviceable but highly unlikely I’ll be back. There are a couple other BBQ places close by that I prefer.

Great food. 2nd time being there and it did not disappoint. I had the Philly cheese steak with fries, and it was delicious and tender.

I chose this location for my birthday dinner because I didn’t want to drive to Chicago! What a big mistake. Now I didn’t expect this location to be equal to the city , but I didn’t expect to be as disappointed as I was.
I ordered the Rib Tip dinner: The tips were dry and they were not tips! They were as if cook took a Brisket and chopped it up. The Sweet Potato Fries were so over cooked and to my liking not eatable. The Corn you can definitely see that it sat in water too long. The Garlic Bread was okay. Had to add additional sauce, didn’t think to ask for more sauce.
I’m fair with my reviews and this is the second dissatisfied review I’ve ever given.
I will not be revisiting this establishment! Try it your opinion may very well be different.

So overpriced for what you get. The Mac and cheese is 100% boxed Mac and cheese. I’ve never been to a BBQ joint that didn’t serve homemade Mac and cheese. Pretty confident the baked beans were just canned baked beans. The pulled pork was realllllly dry. The chicken was eh. The sides are super tiny, not that I wanted any more of it, but it is definitely over priced for what you get. Will not be back 🙁

1st time there. Heard a lot about the gyros on social, so we decided to gve this place a try. They are busy, but they’re also well organized and know how to get orders out. If you’ve ever been to Manny’s deli in Chicago or Ketz deli in NY, u know what I mean.
It’s true the Gyro is great. Reminded me of Greek Town gyros in Chicago’s greek town. Big and loaded. I had it french bread w Tzatziki sauce on the side. Loved it! Come on! One small sauce for this beast. Gotta gve at lease two.
My wife had the brisket sandwich. She couldn’t enjoy it bc it had too much fat. Not great but the flavor was good.
Also had the bbq pork. Another good choice. Not like pulled pork but more like shredded bbq rib meat. My daughter really enjoyed it.
Sides were good. Generous fries and good tasting bbq beans.
I’ll be back.

Love they layout, decor, and the guy behind the counter was super nice. I went twice this weekend. The First was rib tips and brisket. Brisket was tender but both were covered in their signature, VERY sugary, BBQ sauce. I came back the next day and had brisket and a kebab, no sauce on the brisket. I was hoping for smoky from a wood pit place, but no smoke on the brisket. I think the brisket is done in an oven or slow cooker, unfortunately. The chicken kebab was huge and delicious. I’ll be back to find where the wood smoke smell is coming from.

The customer service is fantastic, the young lady taking our order was very helpful and very nice. The food i dont even know where to begin other than it was out of this world delicious totally worth the 35 minute drive to get here. The sauce was so yummy, the ribs to die for fell off bone, so juicy. The pulled pork was tender and the bun was toasted which made it that much better. The baked beans had so much flavor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This was my first time here and I will be back many more times. Kudos to the entire staff, to the service, the food and the extremely clean restaurant which beautiful decor.

We love Gemato’s! The barbecue is always fantastic. I love getting the pulled pork sandwich and my husband loves the hot links. You can tell the barbecue is freshly smoked, and it’s so flavorful and tender.
This is not a sit-down service restaurant – food is ordered at the front registers, then picked up from the kitchen window. I believe it is often the owner who is taking orders, and he is so friendly and helpful. Everyone we’ve interacted with has been very friendly!
It may not be “fancy”, but we’ve gone here for special occasions including anniversaries and birthdays. Gematos is a family fave of ours!

While Gemato’s name highlights their expertise in traditional wood-pit BBQ, we decided to explore their versatility by ordering the Chicken Kebabs and the Greek Chicken Dinner—and we were absolutely blown away! This establishment is a master of all things grilled and seasoned, easily deserving of five stars.
We expected amazing smokehouse flavors, but the quality and execution of these non-traditional dishes prove Gemato’s is operating at a seriously high culinary level.
