Absolutely amazing the food was so good I love fried mullet we got to sit by the window and alligators were swimming around in the river behind us it was really cool they are not open all year round they’re only open for a couple of months. And next weekend is their last day open Friday and Saturday and then they won’t be open until next year. It’s a 100% need to go place if it’s this year or next year. But the food was great and everybody there is very friendly. And thank you to Rachel for being kind and explaining things about the restaurant so I can make a good review. But thank you

This place is amazing, and nothing short of a great destination for out of towners, who are lucky enough to find it. This is a local favorite, and awesome dining experience, for those looking for true southern seafood, and great southern hospitality. Treat yourself and family to a great experience!

We were there when it opened standing in line to be seated. We ordered an appetizer. Another party member ordered and got their appetizer. Nothing was mentioned about ours. Everybody’s food was served. My husband asked about his appetizers. The waitress checked and was told they were out of it. Why we weren’t told this when the other appetizer was served we don’t know.

They’re only open weekends during the summer so it took me several years to finally make it when they were open. I had high expectations and they exceeded my expectations. We even got to watch wild alligators swimming around in the lake right behind us as we ate dinner. This is definitely a new tradition for us to go there once every summer.

We didn’t get to experience The famous Gators Seafood. Showed up at 5:00 to find we would have at least an hour and a half wait because the restaurant was full, now we wait for the new customers to order, eat, and leave, there were several people before us. No need for me to go back, that is really bad management, like elementary school mentality. The lady said we should go wander the property and she would call us,,, in an hour or so,,, ain’t no food that good, I figure with that type manager, can’t be good. Went to Aces, had the buffet,,, didn’t have a wait in the heat, food was good. You need a system for customers, you don’t have anything in place, terrible customer service.

Waited 1 1/2 hour for our food. Got drink refills only once. Our kids never were given refills for their drinks. They sat a family that was obviously a friend of the restaurant before everyone else…they just walked up and were seated immediately…after the staff announced to them “oh, they need to speak to you in the kitchen”. Lie! They just seated them and they were guests. Bad customer service and integrity.

Finally made it to Gators. Been wanting to go there for years. They open at 5pm. I got there at 5:04pm and was greeted with a line of people waiting. I suggest getting there around 4:30ish so you can get a table when they open the door. I stood around maybe 10 mins waiting to get on the list. You can either wait outside and look at the lake or sit inside on a little bench or 2 rocking chairs. I was a party of one and was hoping I could go to a bar and eat but that wasn’t the case. I waited a little over and hour for a table. The staff was very nice. The server was prompt and kind. The menu is smaller than expected. They have crackers and bring you out a dip. I ordered the catfish (fried filet pieces since they don’t have whole) & fries. The sweet tea was perfect and my glass was never empty. Food came out at a normal time. It was really good and didn’t taste fishy or dirty at all. It was about $21 after taxes. I will definitely go again if I don’t have to wait a extended period.

Very crowded, loud, tables close together, food was good but not the best I’ve had. It didn’t live up to the hype I’ve heard about it. It was pricey for the portion sizes, too.

Place is amazing and seasonal only opened fri and sat. Your best bet is to get here early and wait in line or wait till about 7. It’s a first come first serve so make sure your party is present. I always get the mullet backbone entree its my fav

Drive down a dirt road to the back of the woods to a cozy cabin on the banks of a gator infested lake for some good seafood. We really thought we were lost as we follow the GPS direction. But it was a pleasant surprise. While waiting 30 minutes for our table, we walked to the lake to watch some gators bob up to check us out. There were many and the sound they made were eerie. As we were seated at our table, we could also watch the gators from the large patio windows overlooking the lake. My hubby and I shared a crab claw appetiser, seafood platter and dessert. Never had mullet but it tasted similar to catfish. The coleslaw was the only thing that we didn’t like. It was dry and bitter tasting. The backside of the menu tells the story of how the restuarant was founded and that it was family owned and operated by family and friends. We found the prices to be very reasonable. Would highly recommend this place. But go during the summer, as that is the only time they are open.
