Half way through dining we saw a sign that read “You Cannot Take Leftover Side Dishes.”

Imagine dining at a restaurant where you order a meal that comes with variety side dishes. The portions might be too large to finish, so you ask for a container to take the leftovers home. However, the server informs you that side dishes cannot be taken to-go, as it’s the restaurant’s policy.

For many customers, this policy feels restrictive and unfair. After all, they paid for the meal, including the side dishes, and taking leftovers home is a common practice that aligns with minimizing waste and extending the dining experience. Refusing this simple request often leaves patrons feeling like the restaurant cares more about enforcing arbitrary rules than ensuring customer satisfaction.

This narrow-minded policy not only frustrates diners but can also harm the restaurant’s reputation. Word spreads quickly in today’s world of online reviews and social media. What might seem like a minor rule to the owner can come across as stingy and unaccommodating to potential patrons.

On the other hand, a flexible, customer-focused mindset fosters goodwill. Allowing customers to take all their leftovers home shows respect for their choices and money, creating a positive experience that encourages repeat visits.

Being rigid about something as minor as side dishes is shortsighted—it prioritizes control over customer happiness, potentially driving loyal patrons to more accommodating competitors.

Wow, the gamja-tang here is amazing!! I’m from Canada and every time I come to LA to see my friend, I always make the request that we come eat here – it’s that good!! Toronto has an awesome Korean food scene and I’ve tried quite a few places but their gamja-tang is second-rate in comparison to Gamjatang house. The soup is hearty, spicy, full of flavor and the meat is so tender. Highly recommend coming here!!

The food at this place was pretty good. Small family owned business. Good banchan. I was a little surprised to find that the pork stew was actually pork bone stew. But it was ok. The bones were cooked well enough so the meat fell right off the bone. Their bulgogi was also very tasty served on a bed of sweet grilled onions. Yummmm so good.

KOREAN CRAVES THIS WAY!!!

!!CAUTION!! These are HOT, just like YOU (and LA lol)

Start a lovely evening meal with this BIG boiling bowl of spicy pork stew [1x CHILLI] Pork meat on the bones are EXTREMELY tender & easy to eat PLUS it’s soaked with delicious soup flavor from inside out!!

Totally worth a visit just for this pot, because at least you don’t know how long it will take to stew the pork to this finale (and not to mention temperature, sauce, etc..)

Coming up next with a well-known Korean dish stir-fried marinated bulgogi (beef) [1x CHILLI] – I can guarantee the marinated flavor till every square inch.

Beef texture is really nice and saucing goes extremely well together. I like eating it with rice – simply my favorite Korean mix.

Last but not least, if you’re even more of a spicy person, try this spicy stir-fried squid [1x CHILLI] which I actually think they should have [3x CHILLI] LOL

The squid are perfectly cooked, not too done and not uncooked. Although the spice was almost at my limit, IT IS VERY YUMMY I can’t stop eating (and drinking more water LMAO)

Here you’ll get generous & amazing SIDE DISHES too – rice, kimchi, mashed potato, bean sprouts, broccoli, etc.. OMG I FELT SUCH KOREAN VIBES HAVING THEM

OOOOHHHH!! P.S. If you go with friends, GO FOR THEIR BIG STEW HOTPOT, DIY cooking time~

It’s an okay restaurant. It wasn’t my 1st choice but due to the nearby restaurant wait time we decided to come here. We ordered drinks and three dishes. The bulgogi was dry and tasted terrible. I would not recommend this dish…not for the price posted.

I came here with a group of friends and we ordered family style. We ordered the Gamja Tang, pork neck soup with the bean rice. The soup was delicious and came with large potatoes. We also got the seafood pancake, which was okay. I could have done without it. This place is worth trying.

Looking a bit run down and very “old school” from the outside, but they have awesome food! FYI–their parking lot is in the rear/back and you’ll have to walk around to the front. Their entrees are quite tasty and have huge portions! They have your common selections and also the army stew! Their pancakes are so delicious and better than most places around–I would definitely recommend it!

This spots food was really good. Had the spicy pork stew, on point. Could’ve had a few less bones and more meat. I filled up a plate with them. A nice selection of little side dishes to go along with the meal. The stew broth was awesome.. looking forward to making some rice 2moro and throwing the broth on it.. im gonna go there again and try it for a 2nd time..
