Came in for a quick dinner and ended up staying for a cocktail (or two!). The salad bar was absolutely AMAZING!! Fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Highly recommend the blueberry martini After dinner, we were even treated to a complimentary dessert! Overall experience: 10/10. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious lunch at Gaetano’s Vault! The salad bar was incredibly fresh with the most topping options I’ve ever seen, and the soups (sweet potato, Italian wedding, and creamy mushroom) were phenomenal. Only one server was on, and she did an amazing job taking care of a nearly full restaurant. Truly a stellar experience—so happy to find this gem in Streator, Illinois. We’ll definitely be back!

Came with a parent early on a Saturday around 5pm. When we arrived we were one of the only 3 tables seated. Soon afterwards there wasn’t a seat to be had. So glad we went early. It seemed that there were only 2 servers, one of which was also hosting. That made for some slow service and some confusion, like seeming like you’re forgotten. But the server was super nice so it made up for it. I tried a seafood chowder to start. It was pretty good. But there was a pretty noticeable chip in my bowl. I would think a dishwasher would have caught that and discarded the bowl. Or if not maybe the server.
Then I got a vegetable lasagna that I liked also. But they put these two pieces of bread on the side that were all burned up. Again I would think the kitchen would have someone that looks at the dishes before they come out and makes sure everything looks okay, but who knows maybe that’s only something you see on the movies. Dad got the filet mignon.

For the geographical area, it’s pretty good. Especially when you consider most all everybody around there is usually eating is fried tenderloins, fried chicken, fried pickles and French fries, to get a little variety is good. And I am likely to try it again sometime.

A group of us ladies came in this past Friday for the lunch special we’ve heard so much about. We were greeted at the front door and offered the booth in the corner, which was delightful! The waitress was so cute, she recommended the booth seeing that we would probably sit and chat for quite some time. Food was great. Broccoli cheddar soup from the all-you-can-eat salad bar was fantastic. As well as the alfredo. We even ordered a martini and it was delicious. And for a great price! Love the decor and ambiance of the place, very darling. Our waitress was so sweet and thoughtful. She explained the lunch specials to us, patient with us taking forever to decide what we wanted. Just over all very hospitable and caring. We made a joke that we never get this kind of treatment anywhere, ha ha!

We visited for my birthday dinner. Our waiter was great he was very attentive helped with our food issues. The salad bar and soup was great. Pasta was dry, chicken was burnt tasting, the burgers were good. I did receive a dessert that was wonderful very rich. Food didn’t exactly meet expectations but they did try to make it right.

Went for LUNCH on a Saturday. Not sure if it is the same during the week, but the lunch menu is very limited. There is a basic salad bar and some bar food with fries and pasta (I forgot to take a picture of the lunch menu.) Admittedly I was disappointed as I eat low carb and was looking for meat or seafood. Other than that service and atmosphere were good.

I got the meatball trio appetizer which was supposed to come topped with ricotta whip but did not. Other than that it was good.

They hand you a regular menu with the lunch menu, but the only thing you can get off of the regular menu are some of the appetizers. It seems this is the case from 11 until 3. They really should post their lunch menu on the website.

I can’t recommend The Vault enough! We hosted my rehearsal dinner here and Jamal was the best to work with! The space is beautiful and we were able to customize the menu to be exactly what we wanted!
Jamal went above and beyond for us and I hope to have more events here in the future!

My very first experience here was amazing. I took my mother for her birthday and we ate in vault. At the time the vault was a bit hot, but they were still in the works. The food was amazing, and unique. Some things were new to me but I loved trying them. The deserts were AMAZING. The key lime pie was my favorite. They display them beautifully.

The staff and service was great. Fondly became close with Jamal through our multiple experience and the new years event they held. He’s a great server, and great with his attitude and work ethic. I love having him as our waiter every time we come in.

The place itself was clean and beautiful. The stunning decor and set up. They really put time and thought into how they set the place up. Tables were clean, plating was clean.

Each experience has been unique, some waits longer than other but overall they are very good at keeping you updated and have given me great service every time. As to the waiting time I was completely fine with it because it gave time to socialize at the table. Everyone is so use to ordering and getting food right away but when you sit down at a place like this I believe you must take it in with those you are their with.

I think it’s very exciting and different that they have movie dine-in nights and with live music now and then.

Overall recommend trying the place out and giving them a try with an open mind

Love the ambiance, especially the conversion from bank to restaurant! The violinist was a nice touch as well.
Food was ok. Relatively high price for the portion sizes and quality of the meal. The mahi mahi was very dry and the portions looked like they were previously frozen – both my fish and another diner’s fish were the exact size portion. Hers was prepared a different way and was also dry. My cousin indicated his burger was cold.
Our server was ok but many mistakes were pointed out. For example, a protein was added when requested it not be added.

I don’t live in the area, but if I did, I would try it at least one more time, as everyone has an off night.

Gaetanos Vault is a hidden gem! Take a trip back in time to the roaring 20s and eat not only in a beautiful restaurant that used to be a bank, but one that was actually robbed during that era. When you first walk in you can’t help but notice how much detail was put into the resturant. The rustic bar, stained glass windows, and of course the actual bank vault that you can have a private meal inside. There is a beer wall outside and a gorgeous banquet room upstairs, this place has it all.

The food is on the same level as the atmosphere! We enjoyed the crabcakes for an appetizer, had an 18 Oz Ribeye and 10oz Gaetanos Cut prepared to perfection. They have so many add ons for their steaks and every side that we had was just as amazing! We also highly recommend the creme brulee cheesecake – it was the best cheesecake I have ever had.

The staff and bartender were phenomenal. They relish in sharing the history behind the building and establishment and their demeanor was consistently thoughtful and attentive. They truly went the extra mile.

If you are having a special occasion or a night out, this is the place for you!
