Food was great. We were given 2 cold water bottles as we sat down, but was surprised we were charged $2 at the end of the bill without having been asked if we wanted it or not and told that we’d be getting charged for it. The $6 cappuccino was tiny, but pretty.

A pretty good, conveniently located spot! Staff is really friendly and the manager was friendly as well (seems like he’s changed his ways based on previous reviewers, at least during my experience). In terms of vegan options, they’ve got a few things on the menu. The veggie burger (no brioche bun) and oatmeal are pretty good. They’ve got almond milk for coffee as well.

I don’t even know where to start. The owner of this place is a complete A hole to say it nicely. First, he wouldn’t seat us as our entire party wasn’t there. Understandable if packed, but there were 8 empty tables. Five minutes later we were sat. 5 minutes after that, he moved us another table because table we were at a 6 top and we were 4 and he had a reservation in 45 minutes. We told him we were old friends catching up and going to be there awhile. We totally understood the move. Then things went downhill fast.

This place is great.. not regular great but High quality great. Outstanding food. 4 people, 4 different things for breakfast, everything was just perfect and food came out very quickly.. not a huge place. Will be back for sure

Food is decent but the owner of this place is extremely rude and seems to only be concerned about money. I’ve given it multiple chances and every time I go he does something totally off putting. On one visit he said a to-go cup for my coffee would be $3. On another, he wouldn’t let me bring my Starbucks in. And one time he snatched a to-go container out of my hands and brought me a different one because the original was too big for my food. Also, the place is always filled with smoke from the kitchen; guessing he’s too cheap to get better ventilation. He’s lucky the food is decent otherwise no one would put up with him.

Food was incredible. Owner is very kind and catered to my every need. He even gave me a little kiss on the forehead while I ate. His son seems a little flamboyant though.

We decided to go out for dinner and couldn’t get a reservation at one of our usual spots when we saw Fuel on Open Table. We’re so glad we did, the meal was delicious! This is a hidden gem in Wilmette and we will most definitely be back.

Some of the best, freshest and artfully prepared food on the North Shore! I have yet to experience a dinner but I’m sure it will be inspired. The phrase, “You get what you pay for” applies here as it’s not cheap but worth every penny!

An exceptional breakfast with high quality, fresh ingredients, generous portions and a great latte. The staff is warm and attentive without being in your space. After eating, I sat to do some work while drinking the latte and felt comfortable to just BE. Clean and light atmosphere with dedicated local patrons who interact with the staff, including the owner, like Cheers. Wilmette is lucky to have Fuel.

Stopped for breakfast the morning of the Ohio State Northwestern football game. I’ve never had a better tasting, higher quality breakfast! Also, very generous portions, easily enough food for two, but I ate it all it was so delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and talkative explaining his organic and locally sourced food–very passionate about his business. I left my credit card on the counter and he took his own time to mail it to me, great experience!
