Incredible is the first word that comes to mind. Everything I’ve had is delicious. The staff is friendly. It’s family owned and the atmosphere is quaint. Highly recommend. The apple tart is one on my favorites.

We celebrated our 28 th Anniversary at the French Express. The chef is to be commended for our delicious meals and dessert. Mollie and the other young lady, were professionally friendly hostess and waitress. The Christmas hymns added a romantic touch of class. God-Bless✝️

Awesome place. Our first visit and won’t be our last. Everything is fresh and delicious. We had the butternut squash bisque and tomato soup. Both of which are very tasty and they come with a baguette, which is phenomenal. The service is also great. We heard the owner is French which is probably why it tastes so good.
We really enjoyed our lunch and look forward to the next visit. I definitely recommend dining here.

Love the food here and have returned multiple times. Last time was a dud though. Saturday the closing time is 4pm. We arrived and ordered at approximately 3:10. The staff stated something like….we close the dining at 3:30? Or something to that effect. We said ok fine, its 3:10, we’ll be done before 4 if we have our food promptly. She pressed more saying….we can wrap it to go if you want to eat in the car???? Ah….no. I pushed back and said we choose to dine in and will be more than finished at your closing at 4. Basically, if you would stop and get busy with my food, all will be well. Which it was. My friend and I discussed how bizarre food Establishments operate these days with these expectations. Open til 4 but dont dare sit from 3 onward when we want to get cleaned up and the heck outta here. I’m just curious as to whether this is the owner’s policy or a made up rule by staff that is being done without their knowledge? Just not a great business tactic in my opinion which from both my friend and I being in the food business for 40+ years each have a leg to stand on. Sorry for long winded but it gets very tiring. Enough to consider other options next time.

Fives stars are not enough to award The French Express. This establishment exceeds expectations in every way. The cuisine is fantastic and unlike anything found in Westmoreland County. The service is outstanding. Molly is the most friendly person you’ll meet. The prices are certainly reasonable and a bargain in light of what you receive. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is eager to educate those interested in learning. Also, if you have someone who requires GF offerings, the staff can meet all your needs. You simply have to discover the many culinary pleasures offered at The French Express! Stop in today, and see what you’ve been missing!

Second time we’ve been here and it’s still exceptional. The sandwiches are on this fantastically crunchy bread. It’s really something. Normally when you have a very crusty bread, there’s a bit of toughness to it. Not here. It’s crunchy but tender. It doesn’t have that heavy, jaw-tiring rigidity. Just a pleasant chew.
The flourless chocolate cake is delicious, and the homemade crepes are as good as you can find in 3 counties.

Learned about this restaurant from my nephew, and waited to go there for my birthday. We went in and ordered the quiche combo. Consisting of quiche, salad, soup, and baguette, and fresh brewed iced tea. They handed over-the-counter a medium size waxed paper tumbler. And my friend had to get his own “warm“ Pepsi out of a refrigerator and was given no glass or ice either one. We decided to sit at a table. Probably 15 minutes later we were brought one slice of quiche each. It was served on a paper plate With a plastic fork and not a napkin in sight! It was very good and I would recommend it, however, that’s it! We were given nothing else! Everyone who came in behind us was waited on and happy. And they even announced that they ran out of the soup we ordered after four people behind us had gotten it! The only thing I was able to rate is the quiche because that is all we were given! I suppose if you have all afternoon and don’t care what kind of soup you get or if you receive a salad or not, you will like this place! Just don’t make it a destination for yours or anyone’s birthday!

Amazing taste of Europe right here in town. A unique and charming little eatery with gourmet desserts! They have fresh quiche and soups daily, and sandwich combos. I was in love with the dessert case and haven’t seen anything like it since I was in England. The lady at the counter was so very nice and helpful. They have gluten free buns and even a few of their soups and desserts are gluten free! This was much appreciated as we had someone in our party with Celiac dietary needs. Thank you for being so accommodating. The food tastes delicious and is made fresh in house with quality you can taste. Little pricey but I think it’s worth it.
