The store itself is pretty simple, not much to the interior (it’s pretty empty) and the service is decent. The staff does their job and it stays pretty quiet around the time we usually visit.
The food is pretty good and offers decent portions for the price they charge. From most of my family’s review of their meals, the chicken dishes aren’t too much to rave about compared to the seafood dishes. I ordered the oysters and enjoyed them.
They offer affordable meals and make for pretty good take-out whenever you’re in the mood for comfort food!

You may have to wait a little while, but it’s worth it because the fish is cooked to order. Say what you will but this is some good fried fish! Oh and order the large tater sauce. It’s the best!

A local favorite, especially if you grew up on the southside. I’ve never had bad service or food at this location. Occasionally, service is slow but that’s kind of expected because I can’t recall ever seeing more than one person working here so I try to go when no one else is in line. I definitely recommend trying the fish basket and chicken sandwich if you’ve never been before.

This particular location was order TOGO Only without any seating or dining room options.
Just ordered & took my chance with box deal plus I added a corn on the cob.
I was pleasantly surprised with everything…..
The corn was Juicy n Sweet with a buttery delicious delight.
The battered fish cakes was tasty,flaky & tender.
Standard white bread along with some fries hit the spot
Very low priced valued meal, considering that it’s fish??
This budget meal deal was both delicious and affordable……
I will definitely be adding this to my radar for future eating options. Plus, I will widen my selections to try some more thing’s off the menu.

Misleading Menu and Poor Customer Service
This was our first time trying Fred’s Fish, and it ended up being a huge disappointment. We have a large family and were really looking forward to their “Family Deluxe Deal” advertised on their online menu. It clearly said the meal came with 18 pieces of fish, large fries, and a large tartar sauce — all for a decent price.
But when we got to the store, we were told it only comes with 15 pieces for the same price. No large tartar sauce was included, and the meal only came with one small order of fries — definitely not enough for a family.
When I brought it to the clerk’s attention, the only response I got was, “Well, I don’t know what to tell you.” No effort to make it right or even acknowledge the issue. Extremely unprofessional.
By the time we ordered extra sides just to make up for what was missing, we ended up spending almost double what we expected. All based on a misleading online menu. Not a great first experience, and we won’t be coming back.

Good fish and shrimp. Never had an issue at this location. It’s better to call in your order so it’s ready. The onion rings aren’t bad either.
