Broke down outside Clinton, AR today. Asked the locals at the repair shop to recommend a place to get some good lunch. They all said Frank’s Hickory House. We decided to check it out, and I’m sure glad we did. The service was great and the food was awesome! We had the pork sandwiches with Cole slaw and onion rings. The meat was tender and yummy all on it’s own, but the addition of homemade BBQ sauce and slaw knocked it out of the park! This will definitely be our new spot when we travel through the area. Anyone going through Clinton should check this place out!

BBQ IS FANTASTIC!! After 41 years of loving the burgers and the BBQ sandwiches I tried the ribs and found out I have been missing out for way too long!

The staff is always wonderful…and serve you like you are family.

Mr. Joe and Laura are such amazing business owners and Mr. Frank was always wonderful too.

Pleasant surprise to stop along the highway and find the most personable, friendly restaurant! The BBQ sauce wasn’t what we expected or are used to (not KC style) but good hickory flavor in the meat. All the side items were outstanding and ice cream… to die for! Free drink Tuesday (bonus), best real cherry Coke and sweet tea ever!

We stopped at Frank’s Hickory House on a lark needing a cool-down from being on the road and BBQ sounded appealing. We were delighted with the aggressive air conditioning and ambiance reflecting a long and storied and successful history.

Kim did a great job taking care of us! We tried jumbo beef and jumbo pork sammies prepared Memphis style with cole slaw. The meat had a nice and tasty smoke (though we wish there were more of it!), the house-made sauce was tangy with a bit of sweet and complemented the meat nicely. The slaw added a creamy, crunchy, counterpoint.

We sided with an order of beans and tater tots. The beans were smoky, tangy, delicious, and not to be missed! The tots were tots but for $2.60 we expect a few more of them.

On road trips, part of the enjoyment for us is meeting and talking with folks along the way. Kim was a total delight with a great story. We asked if we could snap her picture. Sure, but just a minute she said, and returned with a giant-size soft serve cone which was the crowning touch for a great lunch. This is a great spot! Stop on in y’all!

Amazing, it’s the only place in town to get a decent cheeseburger and fries. You can still get a chery coke or a good old fashioned malt. The bbq and coleslaw is first rate and all the staff are friendly and efficient. Bring your appetite.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fast service; but most importantly, good food. It’s nice to be able to hear your burger sizzle on the grill in the kitchen. I would also recommend the barbecue. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Been coming here for years and the food is the same today as it was 18 years ago. This is a family run business and they are very nice people. My favorite is the quarter pound cheeseburger fries and chocolate malt. Thanks Laura Sam Kim and Joe.

The food was kinda bland. The ribs I got were over cooked and tasted like they had been reheated for 2 days. I personally find it gross to see the waitress we had mopping the floors then handle our food without washing her hands. On top of poor service she provided (we were her only table and came early enough there wasn’t a dinner rush).

Wonderful cheeseburgers and tots. People are super friendly and prices are reasonable. Always fresh food. Only drawback is that Hickory House is NOT open on weekends. TOTALLY 5 STARS.

I know everyone has different taste, but Ive been here twice and did not care for my meal either time. I do not recomend the chicken fried steak or the bbq plate. The staff are very nice though.
