5 Things to Know about Savannah’s Lucia Pasta Bar – Eat It & Like It
Reviews
So a few months ago we tried to walk in to Lucia and unfortunately didn’t have a reservation and didn’t want to wait for a spot. So this week I made a reservation and was so glad I did! When we got there everyone was friendly and seated us right away. The dining space is cozy and a little loud due to it being an all concrete room (could benefit from some sound panels on the ceiling). Shay our server was absolutely amazing! We started off with Wine and the Vesuvio (I love unique cocktails) it was amazing with just a hint of spice on your palette. As we do with most new resturants we go to we ordered an offensive amount of food for 2 people.
Drinks-
Vesuvio was like a slightly spicy margarita it was so good!
Brooklyn almost manhattan style spirit forward excellently crafted.
Capri was so refreshing and balanced. A great drink to sit on the porch and enjoy.
Starters-
Romaine Lettuce was so simple and delicious! A great shareable portion for 4.
Potato Foccacia when I say everyone’s eyes widened when this massive loaf made it to the table we aren’t kidding! It’s enough for 8 by itself! We took 3/4 of it home. (Offering a half order would be great.)
Octopus & Potato was a standout for me! I hate seafood (I try it all the time to see if my palette has grown up yet at the ripe age of 38, it hasn’t) and this was wonderful. The tentacles were charred with a sauce that I wanted to drink from the bowl it was so good.
Arancino was awesome! A classic simple dish that was knocked out of the park!
Mains
Tortelloni was delicious! A flavorful dish with beautifully made pasta cooked perfect with a killer sauce.
Diavola Pizza so good! It had a nice spice but not overwhelming.
Grandma Jacovino “Steak Pizzaiolo” this was an unexpected highlight. I’m a rare steak person and while this was on the medium well/well side it was so flavorful and so delicious. I would get a pasta with it and share the dishes, the steak is huge!
Dessert
Affogato the gelato this time was butter pecan (normally my least favorite flavor) was absolutely amazing! I loved everything about it!
We started with the romaine lettuce salad, arancino, and the octopus with potato, and every bite was flawless. The octopus was especially memorable—tender, beautifully cooked, and packed with flavor. For mains, the Diavolo pizza brought just the right amount of heat, the tortelloni was rich and comforting with incredible depth, and the alla plancha steak was cooked to perfection; it was bold, savory, and indulgent without being heavy.
Dessert sealed the deal with an affogato that was simple, elegant, and executed perfectly, the ideal ending to an outstanding meal.
Lucia Pasta Bar delivers on every level: food, cocktails, and service. A must-visit for anyone in Savannah looking for elevated Italian done right.
We started with the focaccia and the persimmon bruschetta. The persimmons were not ripe yet so they were slightly astringent and not really sweet which is a shame because it would have been an amazing dish with ripe fruit. The focaccia was a really tasty piece of bread but I wouldn’t describe it as focaccia. It was dense, with a very tight crumb, and seemed very lean for what is supposed to be an olive oil enriched dough.
For the mains we had the sweet potato agnolotti and the campanelle alla vodka. The campanelle was supposed to have nduja and shallots but it tasted more like passatta that was cooked close to those ingredients instead of with them. Overall it was just an okay tomato sauce with bland egg pasta that was slightly overcooked. However the agnolotti was amazing. They were tasty, light, perfectly cooked in a really flavorful sauce with crispy kale that accented it perfectly. Hands down this was the star of the night and a dish I would order again
Every dish feels like it’s made with love and tradition. The sauces are rich and flavorful, and the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. The wood-fired bread was a standout — just the right amount of char.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. Shoutout to our server Shaye who helped us with all the veggie options on the menu and the best recommendations! My favorite part was the use of metal straws in my cocktail!
PS: Don’t skip dessert — the Panna cotta was light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
Highly recommend! And can’t wait to go back for more! Pictured: CHERRY TOMATO FOCCACIA, TORTELLONI, BOCCE BALL, MOSCOW MULE & PANNA COTTA
My daughter and I had a HUGE surprise, the couple sitting next to us bought our entire meal. Have no idea why they did that but it of course added to the enjoyment of our night!
I visited this new Italian restaurant last night, and from start to finish it was perfection. The atmosphere is cozy yet upscale — you can tell they put so much thought into every detail. The staff was warm, attentive, and made me feel right at home.
The food was phenomenal. The pasta was clearly homemade — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. I sat at the pasta bar, which I highly recommend — watching the chefs in action made the whole experience even more special.
The cocktails were creative and balanced. Everything from the service to the presentation was top-tier.
Let’s talk about food, to say it disappointing is understatement . We ordered arachino, two pastas and one pizza only to be disappointed by it all. Arachino was cold from the inside, with cheese not melted at all. The pizza was cold and by the time we got it and flavorless. The pasta was okay but overcooked. We ordered tortellini and Campanelle. And three drinks (which were probably the best thing about our dinner). And the portion sizes are smaller than usual.
The service was below average. We were forced to place order for appetizers and main course together. And the main course of pizza came way before our appetizer of arachino which definitely not cooked enough.
For average of 50 dollars per person, to be served cold and uncooked food was a huge disappointment.
