My family and I have been dining here for years- initially from a recommendation from a close family friend (boy were they right about this place). Everytime since has been absolutely exceptional from the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. Special thanks to our server Viacheslav who made my husband and I’s birthday dining experience special. We will be back!

It had been nearly 20 years since my last visit to The Franklinville Inn, and returning for our wedding anniversary reminded me exactly why this place has such a stellar reputation. Everything—from the atmosphere to the service to the food—was extraordinary.

We arrived early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. It was definitely crowded, but we managed to find a cozy spot and actually enjoyed the lively energy and friendly company around us. Right on time, we were seated for our reservation and greeted with genuine warmth by our server, who was friendly, attentive, and never once made us feel rushed. It set the tone for a perfect evening.

We started with the crab cake and the Southwestern‑style flatbread, both of which were absolutely delicious. For dinner, my wife ordered the 22 oz. ribeye (medium rare) and I went with the 34 oz. prime rib (medium). Both were cooked to perfection. The baked potatoes—with sour cream, bacon, chives, and cheese—were seasoned beautifully and completed the meal perfectly.

Dessert was the ideal finishing touch: my wife loved the key lime pie paired with a coffee and a splash of orange‑flavored Jameson, while I enjoyed a flawless crème brûlée with an espresso.

After two decades away, The Franklinville Inn exceeded every expectation and gave us a truly memorable anniversary dinner. We won’t be waiting another 20 years to return.

From the moment you walk into the Franklin Inn, you feel a sense of warmth and history. The cozy, inviting atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for what I can only describe as an unforgettable dining experience. While every dish is a treat, the true star of the show is, without a doubt, the steak.
I ordered the filet and it was, quite simply, one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly seared with a beautiful crust on the outside, it was unbelievably tender and juicy on the inside. Each bite was packed with rich, savory flavor that truly melted in my mouth. It’s clear that the chefs at the Franklin Inn have a mastery of their craft, treating the high-quality cut of meat with the respect it deserves. The impeccable service and charming ambiance only added to the perfection of the meal. If you’re a steak lover, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. You won’t be disappointed.

Five star all the way. Had no problem parking (their lot), Had 5:30 reservation’s for two. We were seated by 5:32, the food was great . I had the filet Mignon and a huge baked potato, along with a ceasar salad. My wife had the crab stuffed shrimp , smashed sweet potatoes along with a Caesar salad. For dessert we had the walnut caramel NY cheesecake. It was really special, it was decorated excellently for our 56th wedding anniversary. It was served in a large dish with shutting stars and happy anniversary items. We didn’t exspect something like that, It made our anniversary diner perfect. I had 2 beers (Blue Moon w/oranges) my wife only had water. The bill came to $129.50 . I left a 25% tip. I would like to thank the entire staff, they worked like a well oiled motor. The politeness worked well with the fireplace’s on and people enjoying themselves. It was a delightful evening. My name is Nick DeRose and I strongly recommend the Franklinville Inn for a great night of food and atmosphere .

This is, hands-down, the best eatery in New Jersey. All of the food is excellent. The wait-staff is friendly and professional. Prices are just right for the excellent food, service, and atmosphere. There’s a reason why reservations fill up so quickly for this fine establishment. The reason: it’s amazing.

My go to favorites here are the Filet Mignon, creamed spinach, and Caesar Salad. You cannot go wrong, though, as everything in the menu is delightful.

Our first time at The Franklinville Inn was great. The food was delicious. Just a couple of things though. Their website says the dress code is “business casual” – I’m pretty sure this means you cannot wear sneakers, hats and tshirts but yet there were plenty of patrons wearing such. I didn’t like that I took it seriously but others have no pride. The restaurant should really crack down on that OR change your dress code on the website !
The other thing was the time it took between meals to get your next plate. Overall we sat down for dinner for 2 hours. Which was not by choice this was just how slow the service was or they timed everything was. Our waitress was phenomenal though! The kitchen did cook one of our prime ribs rare when it was supposed to be medium rare. But no biggie they fixed the steak. (The steak in the picture was cooked to perfection)

Franklinville Inn is unbelievable. My prime rib, FANTASTIC. My wife said that her filet mignon was perfect. The crab bisque was one of the best that I’ve ever had. Our server was Kristen and she was wonderful. We will definitely be asking for one of her tables the next time we are there. Reservations need to be made WELL in advance, but DEFINITELY worth it.

Very disappointed that nothing was hot!! Even my French onion soup. Not hot. Short rib pappardelle appetizer, also not hot. AND JARRED CAESAR SALAD DRESSING? Sorry, but a restaurant should never serve a jarred caesar salad dressing! Gross. It was awful and I was so disappointed. Steaks were good and cooked med rare as ordered. Mushrooms w the thick sherry sauce does mushrooms no justice and ruined what mushrooms are about. Mushrooms are usually a great complement to steak and have their own beautiful flavor and they should never be drenched in a sherry gravy.

Server forgot my baked potatoe twice and I finally got it when I was almost done my steak, after asking for it again.

For a place who gets rave reviews from many of my friends and online, and who considers themself “fine dining,” I found many reasons to never return.

Went to the Franklinville Inn finally for our wedding anniversary! Very pleasant! Staff were incredible and service was great! We sat upstairs outside. Very nice atmosphere on a summers evening. Although they really need a fluorescent strip light box to attract and catch flies. They were swarming our food. Food was delicious!
