Lonely as a pie! As silent as it may seem, the gold rush is in the pie. Tucked away between the valley of mountain ranges, this little dive has wagon wheel engravings along side the town’s history of a stapler good eats. Cheese burger cheese burger was my choice, different and delicious. Absolutely flavorful without the bun. Beautifully charred cheese topped with everything else locked in underneath it. As the sign behind the counter reads, this isn’t fast food! You want the good stuff? Then be patient and wait for it because she certainly makes a good pie.

Wow, looking at all of the reviews- I should have listened. Owner was very RUDE. We walked in and were asked “What do you want?” as if we were inconveniencing them. I said “are you serving food today?” (since the place was empty and dark) They pointed to the menus. When ordering, my son asked for a pizza. The rude owner said it’ll be 45 minutes. We ordered cold sandwiches instead (but they still took 30 minutes) as the owner moved like molasses. I tried to brighten her day by asking if she was having a good day. She shook her head all around indicating yes and no. I said, “well, at least you have some good scenery to look at around here”. She ignored that comment and said “where are you from”. I said TN. She responded “Where are you hiking”. I hadn’t said we were hiking anywhere. So I responded, “we are on our way from Yellowstone to TN”. She yelled back “Where are you hiking”. The person with me said “we don’t have plans to hike yet, do you have any recommendations?” The owner responded “There are wolves out there!” and that was the end of that conversation. Food was just so so. But this is the only person in Colorado that was rude like this. I think it’s time she found another line of work. I would skip this place.

Do not recomend if you are a true pizza lover. First, the lady who has worked there 31 years is very rud! It took 40 minutes to get our 2 small pizzas. Each of us got different flavors of soda and each one was very watered down. I know that happens sometimes and just asked for a different flavor. She rand each flavor on the machine and said that look good to her. I told her they are definitely watered down and I can’t drink the Pepsi. She grouchy gave me orange, and its still watered down but tolerable. And NO refills, don’t even ask. The pizza taste like a basic pizza. Not horrible, but not worth eating a second time. And the cheese was over cooked and all brown. My kids ate it, but just thought it was ok. I definitely had better pizza other places and get treated way better.

The pizza here is VERY good! The staff is nice! This and the BBQ place are the best places in Walden hands down! They also sell books and some other things.

We stopped in on the way back from a wedding and had some very lovely sandwiches for the road. The staff member and we are guessing the owner were fun and very pleasant to be around. I would a stop her again.

Stopped for a pizza on our way through town. It was NOT good at all. Overcooked to say the least. The woman working was so unfriendly and miserable looking that we were afraid to ask for another or a refund.
