Decided to try this place out since we always get fliers for it in our mail box. They are slightly more expensive then our normal place that is just a little further north on Peoria. The food was good. I had the hunan chicken. Their wantons were also good. They were different then I’m used to because it tasted like they had onion in them. I may be back if I don’t want to drive to my normal place.

I am always hesitant about hot and sour soup because it is always made differently but Fortune Kitchen was delicious. The soup was not too spicy or over peppered, the ingredients were equal portions, served hot, and had good flavor. The egg drop soup was also delicious, not over seasoned, had pieces of tofu as well. The peanut sauce was not my favorite but paired well with the summer rolls. The shrimp was cooked and not over done.

Terrible food quality, broth was not clear and had weird sludge at the bottom of the container. 9 pieces of meat TOTAL in the beef noodle soup. Absolutely terrible food, wouldn’t even give it to my dog. Broth was oily and tasted of dishwater and was severely underspiced, noodles were glue, and beef was overcooked garbage.

Their food isn’t great, it is subpar at best. Have tried them a few times and had errors with the order 65% of the time. Additionally, when the restaurant made a mistake they did not offer a feasible solution; instead they had claimed various times that they had only a single driver, others orders and offered no resolution for their mistakes. While there are multiple vegetarian items, I found any time the food item (orange/sesame “chicken” or “beef”) was breaded it was mushy and difficult to get down. Be mindful of thoroughly reading their descriptions of the food items, as their versions are Not the same as traditional food items with the same name. For example their “chow mein” is not the traditional pan fried noodle but “crispy” and dried noodles (that are typically used as garnish toppings) to be mixed in with slimy vegetables and eventually turn into another mushy meal.

We ordered sesame shrimp and peanut curry. The sesame shrimp was horrible- 90% breading. The photo is what was left over after picking the shrimp out. Not big shrimp, didn’t taste fresh. The curry was alright.

Very good chicken in garlic sauce. It’s got a great variety of vegetables and good quality chicken. Get it spicy! Egg drop and hot sour soup are also very good

I’ve ordered from this place a couple of times and every time it has been amazing! I’ve ordered through Grubhub and it’s always been fast, fresh and inexpensive. The delivery fee is also dirt cheap compared to other locations. The delivery people have also been great. Courteous and friendly and the amount of food you get is pretty decent. I don’t finish it and usually end up having an extra meal for later or the next day. Should have taken a picture before I messed with the food but at least there is a picture 🙂
