I’ve been coming here since I was in college 30 years ago. I keep coming back for the sentimental value and the excellent food. The 2 huge biscuits with homemade sausage gravy was salty and peppery and delicious. Exactly what I wanted. The fruit was cold and fresh. Service was very good and attentive. I was offered more gravy for the little bare corner of biscuit I left on the plate, but I was so full I couldn’t accept it. I had breakfast today but have had lunch on many occasions and can say that the daily specials are always excellent. In a world constantly in flux, I’m really glad this place I’ve loved so long is still here.

Every time we eat here, everything is amazing. From service to food, they know what they are doing. I had the classic biscuits and gravy with potatoes, and my husband had the pepper jam fried chicken. Both dishes were so flavorful! Chef OVeigh is so personable and does his best to make sure everyone has a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Very welcoming. Your treated like your relatives coming to visit. The chef takes pride in his food. Very clean. The food is fresh. I watched him make my hamburger patty and my husband’s sausage bowl from scratch. Who else uses a touch of flake salt on your fried okra? They do here. This foodie can tel they care what they serve.

Place has “character ” but dont let that fool you.. food was excellent all around! Had the Wed Fried Chicken special. Greens and Macncheese Perfect sides. Pancakes hubby had were also excellent. Friendly, smiling service.. whole experience was wonderful. Will be back!

If you like a cozy, diner style atmosphere with amazing service and equally amazing food then this is your place. My husband and I stopped in later in the afternoon and were quickly greeted with smiles and hospitality. I ordered an omelette with grits and sourdough bread and my husband got the Club sandwich with the soup. Everything was spot on and not a crumb left. Do not skip on the bread. We highly recommend to anyone looking for a great local place. We will definitely be dining here at least one more time before we leave town.
