I dined here at Flying Machine for the first time. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak expecting much more considering it was $34. I was given 7 (small) potatoes, an extremely small portion of asparagus, and over cooked steak. The food tasted okay, but I was extremely disappointed and felt ripped off because of the portion size. The presentation was also very sloppy for such a pricey dish. I will NOT be returning to this restaurant. I left the restaurant hungry, even though I paid such a high amount. Service was alright, we waited 10 minutes before we were greeted. All of our sauces were forgotten about, even after asking twice. I never have written a bad review before, but I was very upset with my meal.

The service was amazing! Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and kind. However, I will never be coming back. The bar drinks were fine but tasted like something you could get anywhere. I got the blue crab pasta; It was 30 dollars and tasted like butter noodles. The pesto had no flavor and there was about a tablespoon of shredded crab meat on top of the flavorless pasta. The deviled eggs as a starter were fine but could easily be made at home and taste the same, if not better for less than half the price. Very disappointed as the reviews on here all sound really great. I would recommend Wrightsville Beach Brewery on oleander instead. Or maybe Flying Machine’s other location for drinks.

Really great lunch visit while waiting for our room to be ready at the beach. The Electric Fog is one of the best IPAs in the state and the burger was incredible. The unique take on devil eggs was really tasty too. My only dislike is that they don’t have the house-made beer cheese available to buy by the gallon:) It came on my burger and it was so, so good. The patio is dog friendly and the staff was nice and attentive. Great spot!

So impressed! The space is beautiful! 2 bar areas and the specialty cocktails were the best I’ve ever had! The food was amazing as well! The Parmesan crusted cauliflower and tuna tartare were so good! All 4 of us really enjoyed sharing our entrees! There was not a crumb left on any of the plates! The staff, service and food was impeccable! We will definitely be back! If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

First time experiencing this new place. Seated right away but then it took 20 minutes before we got water. It appeared unclear who was waiting the table but Sam came over and said he would be glad to service us. He did an exceptional job for a party that wasn’t his.

Tuna salad was ok not spectacular. Super unfortunately, the key lime pie left a lot to be desired. We returned for brunch as we had made reservations before the dinner. My son loved his Bloody Mary. Every Sun has a different theme. This week was a chicken tender, already dipped, & a nice sized fried cream cheese ball. Very good.

I didn’t expect a five-star restaurant inside a brewery but there it is! Seriously the food is exquisite, flavors are impeccable. I’ve eaten at a lot of the “fancy” restaurants around town and Flying Machine beats them all. The staff are always friendly and attentive as well. I drive all the way from Leland to eat here.
