This used to be my favorite sub shop. I would tell everyone (including the guy that made my sandwich) that they had the best Italian sub in the area. That has always been my go-to order.
I think ownership may have changed recently because my last two visits have been deeply disappointing. The bread is different. It’s significantly smaller, kinda stale tasting, and is more like a hot dog bun (in size, taste, and consistency). I get that costs are rising and other area restaurants are downsizing portions, but downsizing quality is unacceptable. Really, it used to be that half a sub left me stuffed. Now, I can eat the entire sub. That’s a significant difference in size. Additionally, today my sandwich had several strands of stringy, woody textured stuff all throughout it. I imagine it was stems from improperly cut banana peppers.
I hope the owner reads this because my intent is to help you. I want my perfect Italian sub back! I’ll come back once more in about a month or so, but if you don’t improve your sub bread and pay closer attention to maintaining quality ingredients, my household can no longer support your business.
UPDATE: I’m glad management read and responded, and as I said in my review, I look forward to trying once again in the near future. I do want to add that had I consumed my order on premises (which is not possible), I would have started with in-person feedback. I have found, however, that fair, detailed online reviews make the quickest and best impact. I look forward to a positive update to this review.

Great service! Inside service station but then you get your choice of chips and drinks. The pickle relish was tasty but not too spicy. Perfect for take out!
Named the veggie sandwich the “Loggerhead” which should be the “Green” because loggerheads are carnivores – eat crustaceans, fish and other marine animals. Fully grown Green sea turtles are omnivores .

This place had THE BEST subs around. Period. Then, in the last month or so something changed. New ownership? I don’t know. But the subs are noticeably smaller now and the bread is terrible. My subs today felt like they were on slightly stale oversized hot dog buns, not the sub rolls I have come to expect from this place. So disappointed. I may give them one more try to see if they improve, but if things stay they way they are now I won’t be returning.

Amazing subs!!! All ingredients are fresh and top quality. All of our wraps and subs exceeded our expectations. Definitely go here and get a sandwhich you will not regret it and will go back for more!!

Quaint little sub shop inside the gas station. Great friendly sandwich makers and always fast service. Been going here for years, absolutely love this place. The staff makes you feel welcome every time! They just added wraps to their menu!

The ABSOLUTE BEST Cuban Sandwich in South Florida. Do not waste your time trying any other. I live 1 block away from Havana restaurant in West Palm Beach, and this Cuban Sandwich is 10x better. It takes 8 minutes to prepare but believe me Its worth the wait. I drive 45 min – 1hour to have this Sandwich and it’s always consistent. Love this place and the owner Tom knows what he’s doing and is great.

I haven been here in at least a few months, and sadly I doubt I’ll be back. I ordered what I used to get, ham/cheese/bacon on white sub roll. The bacon had way to much smoked flavor to it, the bread was falling apart while I was eating it. There are no prices on the menu, I don’t like being surprised at the end with a price, my fault for not asking first as well.

This sub shop is excellent! The food is great and the people are so nice. I was surprised at the level of hospitality and the attention to detail. Also the smiles and good energy was something special. I will certainly return whenever I’m in Tequesta and hungry for a great sandwich!

We were looking for a good sandwich on our way home from Palm Beach. Saw great reviews for this place and it did not disappoint. I got tuna and it was plentiful, fresh and tasted amazing. My wife had an Italian sub. It was so full of meat and cheese she could only eat 1/2 and said it was the best Italian sub she had ever had! Give Flip Flop Sub Shop in Tequesta a try, you will not be disappointed.
