If you liked the Adams Family (and I did) you will Love Flicker. It’s velvety gaudiness fits the real Athens scene perfectly. Feels like the vibe of the B-52’s on a slightly dark night, I loved it. I caught the end of “Hard Rock Zombies” in the free theatre and it was so tacky it was cool. Then I enjoyed some free popcorn and a great ginger cider for 4 bucks. Live music and weird movies shown frequently. It’s a locals bar but I think they will welcome you right in;)

A chill bar with a nifty little intimate performance stage behind a curtain in the next room. I’ve been twice and it’s a pleasant experience. Didn’t love the guy taking money for the gig though. I could have dealt with much less condescending sass. Also, I’m not sure if it’s true for all events, but what I went to was cash only and it wasn’t advertised as such. Had to use their ATM in the back of the bar by the restroom. At least the restroom didn’t smell like pee.
