Our server Carolina was amazing and super attentive with check in, our drinks and recommendations! Loved her!
Appetizer:
My husband ordered the pork belly bites but there were more like thick cut bacon bites. A little tough to chew through for me. The Dijon creme they were served on top of was very tasty.
I ordered the poached beets and pears that came with a goat cheese and walnut topping. There were chewable small red beets on the plate that I enjoyed but the classic beets were unpoached and tough to bite through and the pears weren’t ripe. I enjoyed the goat cheese and walnuts the most.
For dinner:
I ordered the filet cooked medium with their house steak sauce ($4 extra) which was very ginger, Worcestershire forward. Very bitey. It was good I just couldn’t eat a lot of it as it was a powerful flavor profile. My side choice was the roasted sweet potatoes with pumpkin seeds.. the potatoes were so amazing and caramelized in their skins! The steak was no more impressive than an outback filet. Cooked correct and thick but no wow factor.
My husband ordered the dry aged ribeye which he said was very good and ate all of. With the garlic green beans on the side.
I also ordered the cucumber lime mocktail which was very tasty!
Overall service was stellar, ambiance was great but for the bill being over $200 I can’t say it was the best meal I’ve had for an anniversary meal.
It was however our most expensive to date.
We are something of foodies and will travel and spend a pretty penny for great steaks.
This was just a little lack luster overall. I would like to try their lunch menu for a final personal review but idk thst we’ll do dinner here for this price point again.
V Chophouse had some questionable expectations based on a few Google reviews, but my wife and I decided to check it out and form our own opinion.
I’m glad we did because it was fantastic. From the start, the service was excellent. The host was welcoming and seated us promptly. Our waiter, Jrod, was funny, personable, and attentive. He checked in just the right amount without being overbearing. He was truly delightful.
The atmosphere felt upscale and high quality, reminiscent of restaurants I’ve visited in New York, Boston, or DC.
The menu was simple yet elegant, offering a great selection of classic dishes. I went with the elk loin, my first time trying it, and it was delicious.
Their drink selection was impressive, with a wide range of wines, liqueurs, and some beers as well.
The head host even stopped by a few times to make sure everything was perfect, which I really appreciated.
I also got a free dessert because it was my birthday which I appreciated!
Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend this establishment to anyone.
To start on a positive note, our server was very kind and personable throughout the evening. While service overall was extremely slow, he himself was pleasant and did his best to remain attentive. We ordered two appetizers, which came out promptly, and the bread was absolutely delicious — easily one of the highlights of the meal.
However, after finishing our appetizers, we waited over an hour and a half for our entrées. When they finally arrived, most of the dishes were cold. The few items that were not cold were either overcooked or lacked flavor. It was especially disappointing given the long wait time.
When we brought the issue to the manager’s attention, she offered to remake my husband’s elk loin. Unfortunately, it appeared that the dish was simply taken to the back and reheated rather than freshly prepared. That was frustrating and added to the overall disappointment given it was a $50 steak.
To compensate for the inconvenience, we were offered two complimentary desserts for a table of five. While the gesture was appreciated, it felt insufficient given the circumstances. We chose to take them to go rather than continue the evening there.
Overall, between the excessive wait time, cold and poorly prepared food, and the limited effort to resolve the situation, the experience fell far short of what we anticipated. We truly wanted to enjoy our evening, but left disappointed.
The drinks were exceptional, offering a great selection that complemented our meals perfectly. Each cocktail was crafted with care, and it was clear that the bartenders take pride in their work.
Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, making it one of the best I’ve had in a while. Every bite was a delight, and the sides were equally impressive.
One thing I did wish for was some background music to elevate the atmosphere even further. A little music could add to the already great vibe and make for an even more enjoyable dining experience.
Overall, Five Chophouse is a must-visit for steak lovers and anyone looking for a memorable meal. I can’t wait to return
The food was great and our waiter, Cooper, was amazing as well. Hopefully a future visit would allow us to enjoy the experience without a lack of regard for the front staff’s desire to overpack the space.
