The food was so great, and it’s like it was moonwalking on my tongue. The portions are really good, hey . We got our food really fast this time, and the setup of the restaurant was just proper and well taken care of, plus it was clean.

I had a wonderful meal at the Fishmonger. The food was amazing and made from top quality ingredients. The staff was very helpful and were always keen to help. One shortfall I won’t penalize them is their pricing. They are a bit on the steep side but you get your moneys worth.

I’m from the Southern Philippines where my step mom and dad would go every morning to the wet market to buy the catch of the day. When she got home my stop mom would then cook the fish for lunch. Seafood was never refrigerated or frozen. It was always fresh catch of the day. So I know what fresh fish tastes like.
Before heading to the airport on our last day in South Africa, I’m so happy to we were able to eat in Fishmonger Rosebank.
We told the waiter Frederick that we had to leave by a certain time to check out of our hotel and he made sure to serve us quickly and efficiently with so much attention to details. We really appreciated it! We felt spoiled!
It’s very rare for me to be served fish with a fish knife but it seems to be what’s done in South Africa. I usually do it at home as a diplowifr. These little details really help a meal Stand out.
The bread looked like giant lips. It was nice and crusty on the outside yet soft and airy inside. Very yummy with butter.
When the food came, we were in food heaven! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. For 2 adults and 1 child the following was just right:
– 9pcs grilled Mozambique Queen Prawns + French fries with cheese on top for sides
– grilled Kingklip + French fries with cheese on top for sides (this is a local fish and it was perfectly flaky!)
Even if we didn’t order dessert, Frederick gave us a sweet end to our meal with delicious strawberry ice cream – my son and husband’s favorite!
If you love fresh seafood, I highly recommend Fishmonger!

This restaurant is located in a shopping mall in Rosebank. My husband and I are seafood fanatics, and this is the best restaurant in the area offering fresh seafood.
Food:
They have a pretty big selection of seafood, as well as meat, poultry, and sushi. We stuck with the seafood and our favorites were the grilled lobster – so fresh and tender. The langoustines were perfectly cooked on the grill with garlic butter – so flavorful. You get to pick a side for your seafood. I’m partial to their green salad – fresh veggies and creamy avocado. Yum.
We also tried the fried calamari, which was soft and not rubbery at all. The mussels in white wine sauce were amazing too. No complaints about any of the dishes.
Service:
The service was excellent. All the waiters were super nice. We went there a few days in a row and they were always happy to see us. They cleared the dirty plates quickly, and the waiters were always around to help.
Overall:
We highly recommend this restaurant to any seafood lovers. Fresh, well-cooked, and the best place to find fresh fish and seafood in Rosebank.

Came here for lunch with the family. We ordered chicken livers for starters. It was creamy and the livers were cooked well. Had surf and turf, seafood pasta, prawns with veggies. All the food was good it was just a bit steep on the pricing – – but service was great. Thank you so much Eve!!

Fishmonger completely supprised me, the Restaurant Is absolutely stunning from the inside, it feels like a Greek coastal restaurant. Service is top notch you are welcomed upon arrival by waiters who usher you to your table. And prepare you for your meal by placing napkins on you to protect your garments from the delicious seafood. My friend and I had dinner and did not go for the seafood boil but we enjoyed the sushi and wine, we had spicy livers as well which were awesome. Please go there if you want great food and and intimate dining experience..
