Beef chow funn had good wok hei. Food a bit on bland side maybe I am used to more salty foods. They now take credit card so don’t worry about having enough cash. Good service too.

The price is reasonable and the food is of large portion. Overall taste is authentic Cantonese style but roasted duck is kinda too sweet. Didn’t provide some sauce for beef offal. My another complaint is the duck is toooo fat mouth of oil.

Updated review 10/12/2022: Fat Wong’s has re-opened for indoor dining after 2.5+ years of closure. The owner has retired and the restaurant is now run by his son (looks nothing like him.) My beef brisket lo-mein $14.45 is significantly smaller than before the pandemic. I was still hungry after eating it. I came here because Cafe Orchid is closed on Wednesdays. The menu has been revised. A lot of my old favorites like crispy noodles are no longer available. I’m glad the old owner retired. He doesn’t look that old by the way. I hope he enjoys his retirement. He was really thankful for the support when I was the only customer during the lock down. Before the pandemic, this was one of my go-to restaurants for clay pots, rice rolls, porridge w/Chinese donuts, wonton noodles and of course their briskets. Thank you for the 15+ years I’ve been eating here. The portions now are smaller and it taste different (downhill.) Where’s the oyster sauce for my lo-mein? Good luck to the new owner.

Don’t get it wrong. The foods were great. Just the wonton needs more shrimp so the texture will be bouncy and refreshing.

I got excited when I saw red vinegar in their side condiment tray. I like it with the shrimp wontons and congee. The shrimp wontons were almost too big. They were alright. The congee was on the saltier side. The braised beef was meh. The quality of the food felt lacking. The worst was the after taste…felt salty and bitter in the mouth.

Tasty authentic Chinese cuisine. This is very much w traditional sit down and share family style restaurant. There is a very wide variety of dishes all with their own appeal. The service is excellent and seating is very ample. Absolutely give it a try!

Me and my group, about 15 of us, went to have lunch. Aside from the very disorganized service they provide, crew doesn’t seem to be friendly. My friend and I ordered their House Special Rice Noodle Soup since it was a good time to have something hot on a cold rainy day. To our surprise, the soup wasn’t that hot and the broth itself tasted like pure stock, unseasoned and totally unflavored. We understand that it could have just been an oversight on the part of the chef. But to serve an unseasoned meal is totally diappointing. We even needed to go to talk to the chef himself and complain but the only thing he did was add a scoop of beef stew broth and told us that that should improve the flavor but it actually didn’t. It made it worse. Imagine adding beef stew broth to a seafood/ fish broth based soup? We repeatedly called the attention of the server assigned to us to complain but what she only did was to bring us salt. We even needed to ask for soy sauce and hoisin sauce just to make it taste acceptable for human consumption. It was a total disaster. I will never go back to this restaurant again. NEVER, EVER!!!

The food here is pretty mediocre, the beef brisket is pretty on point but the rest isn’t that great. The menu is huge and I do want to give it another shot since I saw a lot of locals come and have Porridge. I had the beef brisket and tendon Lo mein and it was barely alright. It didn’t have much flavor, I had to douse it in chili oil to eat

Some foods were good and some foods were delicious. My pork had a lot of fat on it which made it difficult to enjoy. The taste was there but the fat interfered with my meal. Beef and broccoli was nice and tender. Sticky rice was perfect. I would recommend this place for a comfortable eatery to go to with the family. Ambience was mellow. Servers were very helpful in discussing menu choices. Pleasant people
