This was no good. I got the Thic Chic and ordered it around 4:30 for a 5:30 pick up thinking they would wait closer to the pick up time to make it. Apparently not. I’m glad I put this in another box that I carry my things in because my sandwich was so WET that it ripped the bag on the bottom and if I’d been carrying it everything would have splattered on the ground. I was still hoping my sandwich was not soggy, but it was. It was literally dripping like a kitchen faucet and the bread was entirely ruined. Somehow the lettuce was soggy too, but at least the sauce was OK. Chicken had pieces of fat which I was not a fan of. I also looked on their online ordering for cookies and they didn’t have dessert available, but when I got there they had cookies so I asked if I can buy two thinking they would just charge me there and I could pay with a different card (I wanted to use some cash back I had). Instead they charged my same order which looked like they charged me for two sandwich orders twice and I’m still not sure if it was and will have to wait and make sure everything goes through right. I don’t get how it was too confusing to ring me up separately for two cookies.

My bf liked his Cuban, so maybe order that.

Nice little place with amazing food. I went with family and was wishing I was a kid so I could have the PB&J with bacon.

My only reason for the 4 star, not 5, was that they said I’d have to pay for water (didn’t want soda). Apparently Idaho law states that you have to provide water, even if you charge for the cup (but their fountain for soda didn’t even have the option).

I don’t fault them for that but I hope they get it fixed ASAP.

First time visit for us, though we had seen it many times going to my wife’s appointments.

It’s a fairly small deli with tables inside and more outside for Al Fresco dining. Not rerally enough room for decorations, although they do let people sign the walls. The menu is on chalkboards and signs over the counter, where you order. They deliver to your table.
About 4 people in line ahead of us, but that wait was short. It arrived at our table outside between five and ten minutes later.

The sqeeze and I split a Reuben samminch and got two small orders of tater salad. The sandwich had plenty of tender meat in it, a good amount kraut and dressing. It was served on rye bread with swiss cheese. Very nice sandwich, wonderful flavor and plenty for two people.

The tater salad was different as it had some meat in it, but very good. I am not sure what the meat was, but it sure added a different texture and flavor to the salad.

Service was very good with friendly servers. We are glad we finally stopped in.

Not a good place to eat if you’re in a hurry and on a special diet. Last Saturday I went to fat guy’s fresh deli in Caldwell for the first time it was so amazing and it was the first place where I could eat something that was very low carb and still feel full at the end of the meal.

So today I remembered that delicious sandwich and saw that there was a fat guy’s fresh deli near my work. I was curious to see how they compare to each other so I ordered the exact same thing phat pig sandwich, no bread (lettuce wrap) with no spicy fire sugar sauce. I was in a huge hurry so when I received my sandwich, walked out to the car started eating I realized they had put the fire sauce on and it was packed with sugar so basically busted my carb count for the entire day and I’ll have to start over getting back into ketosis. I was very sad because I was hoping this would be a great alternative to just skipping lunch because nobody has good very low carb options. By the way that spicy Fire Sauce is delicious but again packed with sugar that I’m not supposed to have.
So how did Caldwell and Meridian fat guys compare? The Meridian sandwich had very little lettuce so it was wrapped terribly and very messy/ complicated to eat and it was a bit smaller however at the end I felt pretty full just not as full as the Caldwell sandwich which was tightly packed very clean to eat even though it’s lettuce and not bread (which does make it harder). Both sandwiches were extremely tasty. I would have to say other than the offense to my restricted diet and if I hadn’t been to the Caldwell one I would have said this is one of the better sandwiches I’ve ever had. The low ratings is because I do not think I should have to babysit somebody when I am very specific when they ask me “do you want fire sauce” and I said no I cannot have fire sauce and they put it on anyway I feel like that sandwich needed all of the scores to be low but the atmosphere is the atmosphere and it’s great in there.
I would give the meridian fat guys another chance if I had time to sit down and eat and when they made my meal incorrectly I could get up and have them remake it. But for my health I definitely cannot afford popping in picking up a sandwich and taking it to go because my hands are already swollen now & in pain and I ate that sandwich 2 hours ago.

This local sandwich shop is very cool. The little local spot is packed with character. All of the staff are welcoming and there is a type of humor built into the experience. They have a wide variety of sandwich types and many of them have local ties. I got the Rockaway Sandwich and it was extremely good and fresh. I paired it with their potato salad which was more of a herb base than a cream base like I am used to. It was good just different.

A big Fat no for this sandwich. Trying to find the pull pork in my Cuban sandwich but no luck. If I wanted a ham sandwich I would have ordered a ham sandwich. The bread was stale . So I would definitely not be ordering anything from this establishment. If you demand 12.99 for a sandwich and called it a Cuban better have all the ingredients. Your potato salad tasted like dirt and your coleslaw was missing flavor .

Never trust a skinny sandwich… Love it!

We went on a Monday at 2pm and the place was packed!

Great service and amazing sandwich options.

We had a group of six and tried a few different sandwiches including a turkey club, hot pastrami, a chicken salad wrap and a salad and we’re not disappointed.

It’s in a nondescript business park and parking can be a little cramped but definitely worth stopping in.

Had the phat pig sandwich and the jerk chicken soup. Amazing. Changed my life lol. The gals that work there were attentive and quick as well. Planning to cater through them for a work project after my first and only visit.

The first time I was at Fat Guys, some skinny guy forgot my potato salad that should have come with my Bleu Bronco. Well, the second time at Fat Guys, some other skinny guy ensured I got my slaw along with my California Turkey Club. I’m going to go back once more to see if I ask for potato salad if that skinny guy forgets it. I suspect a conspiracy….

Update: Waddled out of Fat Guys with a Silver Duck sammie. Some OTHER skinny guy made sure I got my delicious potato salad. Now I don’t know what to think. Maybe the CIA is involved?
