In 1967, we opened our doors in Abilene, TX to share fresh, authentic Mexican food. Now, almost 52 years later, while the other guys have turned to packaged and processed foods, we’ve stayed true to our roots by crafting authentic recipes in each of our kitchens. We do things the Bueno way, and you’re sure to taste the difference.
Counter-serve Mexican chain offering tacos, burritos & quesadillas plus a serve-yourself salsa bar.

We frequent this Bueno couple times a week but this is unacceptable! We just got home from ordering a party platter through the drive through and this is what we opened up! So we just paid $8.10 for a big disappointment and will still be hungry. Not cool. It wasn’t even busy! Be better! Please! We aren’t asking much. Not trying to be rude. If you don’t see what I’m showing, it’s a taco with barely ANY meat in it at all. One taco was fine and the other one was just no toppings hardly any meat.

The girl in the drive thru has zero customer service skills. i ordered three burritos and i simply asked to add sour cream to them and she let out a huge sigh and said anything else? with an attitude like it was a huge issue to add some sour cream. nobody told you to get a job you hate so learn to do your job right or get a different one. tried to call to speak to a manager and they do not answer the phone. the girl working the window 1/29 around 4:10 pm needs some better training.

Aug 2025: what a nice change to be able to go to the drive through and be able to place an order without any issues. Location on nw 39th should pay attention!Decent location for Taco B. mostly fresh & typically have condiments desired. Staff for most part courteous, nice. BIG change from 3 or 4 yrs ago. Only have used drive-thru thru, which is normally quick. Cleanliness inside is uknown. Location is pretty busy trying to turn onto/off N May.

Usually their foods great, fresh and inexpensive. This time I got burned roll-ups

Food is good quality. Staff is friendly. I come here a lot and location always clean. Salsa bar well stocked which i have found not always case at all bueno location. However this location is a little slow which only reason for 4/5 stars as i still consider taco bueno to be fast food.

This Bueno used to be a safe bet. Today I ordered a Mexidip with no guac and extra queso. I got a Mexidip with no guac, double beans. Not a huge deal – except for the queso was cold with a film on top and filled less than 1/3 of the way up the container, and I’d bet a hundred bucks that the beans are watered down with corn starch. They quite literally taste like nothing. I’m not sure what they are but they’re definitely not beans. Service isn’t great either. I’m adding this one to the ever-growing do-not-go list. Sad.

At this point, probably the best of the Buenos left in the city. Unfortunately that doesn’t set the bar very high. In the last drive-thru experience, they left off several items in our order.

The food was good, once they finally got it correct after multiple attempts! They were not busy at all, not even drive thru. This was also the most filthy Taco Bueno I’ve even seen! I’ll stick to the Edmond location. The food really was good though, just sayin.

They didn’t have the correct box for my beef mucho nachos, so they grabbed a different box and decided I only needed half my food. See attached photo of a half filled box/order. Order was on 7/7/25 at 8:20pm. Will never go here again.

Food was disgusting. I threw away more than half of my order. Management staff is obviously lack-luster if they’re letting the quality of the ‘Taco Bueno’ product sink this low. The beans were so burnt they were very dark and smelled horrible. The burritos were improperly wrapped so the lettering was transferred onto the tortilla from the packaging. I am beyond displeased with this experience and I’m finally WRITING BUENO OFF MY LIST OF “RESAURANTS” THAT I WILL ORDER “FOOD” FROM.
