As a foodie, I always make it a point to seek out unique, locally owned restaurants whenever I travel. When we discovered Farmers Stash in Mountain Home, we were so impressed that we ended up going back two days in a row during our three-night stay – and honestly, we would have gone a third time if we had stayed longer!
This place is small and cozy with limited seating, but you can immediately feel that it’s designed with love – and the food is clearly made with the same care. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can truly tell they are using high-quality ingredients like grass-fed beef and thoughtfully sourced products.
The first day I had the potato soup, which was absolutely amazing, and the spaghetti squash with meatballs and tomato sauce, which was just as delicious. My friend ordered the meatloaf and loved it. When we came back the next day, I tried the kielbasa with dumplings, and it was incredible as well.
The food was so good that we actually forgot to take photos of most of our meals – once we started eating, we just couldn’t stop!
If you find yourself in Mountain Home, do not miss Farmers Stash. It’s a true farm-to-table gem and easily one of the best meals we had on our trip.

A fantastic spot in a lovely small town. About 50 minutes outside of Boise but well worth the drive. Chef Christian does a beautiful job of showcasing fresh local produce, with nearly every ingredient he serves coming from his own farm, grown by his own hands. Anything that isn’t fresh was dried, pickled of fermented by him. The dishes are simple but delicious, centered around what is growing together at this very moment. He has a la carte service on weekends and about 5 days a month does a more intimate 5 course meal centered around the harvests of the full moons. The restaurant space is small, with the the harvest Moon dinners taking place around a central table that only seats eight. It helps with the small town feel and makes the dinners feel even more intimate as you all sit and eat at the same time around a central common table. The Chef accommodated allergies and dietary restrictions with ease, without making you feel like you’re missing out on anything. The restaurant is BYOB with plenty of parking up front. It is also one of the best priced prefix menus in the area. I would definitely recommend you go try it out.

The absolute best food in Mountain Home, hands down. Not something you’d ever expect to find in a small town and I think that if this place was more well known that they’d be sold out for months. Very private setting, so nice for a date night or a girls night out like we did. The food was incredible, the owner was so sweet and plated everything so thoughtfully and meticulously. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Farmers Stashe is exactly what Mountain Home Idaho has been waiting for, a warm, farm-to-table gem where owner Christian brings his harvest right from his own fields to your plate. When each course was brought we were met with impeccable flavors, you can tell that each dish was cooked with intention and love. If you’re craving food from someone who has a genuine connection to agriculture, this is it. Farmers Stashe is truly the BEST restaurant in ALL of Idaho.

Farm to table with the amazing chef Christian. We ordered one of each course and shared. Everything and I mean everything was delicious. The salad had a fermented honey garlic dressing, yum. The pierogi was out of this world and the two main courses, OMG. It is a small place (10 people max) with special dinners during full moon weeks.
Highly recommended and we’ll make the hour drive from Nampa again for an amazing experience like this.

Best food I have had in the entire state. The space is warm and inviting. Top tier food quality, amazing flavor and very fresh. The gentleman who helped with our order was very kind. We will be back as soon as we can. You can tell that everything done here is with great intention. We ordered the squash soup, brussel salad w/ steelhead, stockman sandwich, chorizo flatbread and we’re blown away!

What a find in ‘lil ‘ol Mountain Home. We were not expecting this farm-to-table experience, and we’re sure glad we found it. Everything…and I mean everything…was a new flavor discovery that tantalized the taste buds. Christian was amazing the whole evening. He’s a one-man show who knows what he’s doing. Thank you for a wonderful, private evening.

A hidden gem in our little town. This chef/owner creates local and fresh dining masterpieces. His care and precision in the preparation of your meal is obvious. This is definitely not your average dinner out. The food is worth the drive from out of town. We will absolutely be back to see what Christian cooks up next.

From the moment the first dish arrived, it was clear that the chef at Farmers Stache is a magician with vegetables. This wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience, one of the best I’ve ever had.
The standout? The mashed potatoes, which were pure perfection—creamy, buttery, and impossibly smooth. But the real magic was in the way vegetables were transformed into something extraordinary. The crispy Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char, adding a smoky depth to their natural sweetness. The puréed carrots were silky and vibrant, while the combination of roasted cauliflower and broccoli, tossed with seeds and nuts, brought a satisfying crunch. Topping it all off, a sprinkle of goat cheese added the perfect tangy contrast, tying everything together beautifully.
Every bite was a balance of textures and flavors, proving that vegetables, when treated with care and creativity, can steal the show. If you think you’ve had great veggie dishes before, prepare to have your expectations completely redefined.
