I had a great experience at Family Thai. The food was excellent from start to finish. The Burmese milk tea was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had; rich, flavorful, and really memorable.
The crab rangoons and samosas were both fantastic with no complaints at all. We also ordered the chicken rice noodle soup and a stir fry over rice, which were warm, comforting, and exactly what we were hoping for. The fish curry was also very flavorful and well done.
The only small downside was that there were some loud kids running around, which took away from the atmosphere a bit. But it’s clearly a family-run place, so it’s understandable. Overall, the food absolutely made it worth the visit and I’d definitely come back!

Showed up with a big group of friends on Sunday lunch time. The restaurant had plenty of seating available so it was easy to get a big table to accommodate our party without any wait time. The food was delicious but it took the kitchen a long time to make it. Staff was very friendly.

Food was delicious but the tofu was overdone. The restaurant feels like you’re in someone’s living room, but the woman working was very pleasant

My wife and I drove from Canada specifically to try this small, family run Thai restaurant, and we were not disappointed. While it may not fit the mold of a traditional Michelin starred establishment, it truly deserves that level of recognition. The service was exceptional, the presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were outstanding. This restaurant will always be a must visit for us whenever we’re in Buffalo.

A great hole in the wall, family run, Southeast Asian restaurant! They have Thai and Japanese staples like Thai curry, pad thai, fried rice, and sushi — but make sure you try their Burmese food!
This was my first time trying Burmese cuisine. The tea leaf salad was GREAT – and not at all what I expected! It’s not a “leafy green” salad like Western salads. It’s very savory, garlicky, and crunchy! The pickled tea leaf is a subtle note behind the big flavors and textures of “crispy pea, peanut, sesame seed, crispy garlic, cabbage, tomato, and lemon”. So so so flavorful, hearty, and refreshing.
We also liked the Burmese Rice Noodle Soup (Kyay oh): “Choice of chicken / pork, served with chicken broth, tofu, Chinese rice noodle, ground pork, choi-san, scallion, egg, crispy garlic, and house special sauce on the side”. The flavor is delicate and nourishing!
And last but not least – you can’t go wrong with Thai iced tea and boba.
We went in person and ordered take-out. The young man who took my order was very nice and helpful!
We’ll definitely be back. Hopefully to dine in next time!

11/29/25 had dinner there. Fantastic food and amazing service. Their samosas are better than in majority of Indian restaurants ( plus it’s home made). All dishes we ordered were top. Service was top as well. Really recommend this place for Thai food.

Found this place on Google maps looking for a restaurant near me. I’m glad I went. The summer roll was the best I’ve ever had. The Tom Yum soup was flavorful and perfect for a snowy evening. I loved the curry that I tried too.

Support local and this is a small local family restaurant! It’s the blue building on the corner of Babcock St. I ordered take-out fried egg rolls and pad Thai with Shrimp. The food was wonderful and delicious, and perfect sized portion. It might not be the best dine-in restaurant but I will definitely order take-out again.

Underwhelming. I might give it another go at some point, but the flavor wasn’t there for me. Also, the spice wasn’t there. I ordered the highest spice for the Chicken Curry and Pad See Ew, but neither of them were spicy. Maybe a Level 2 spice. The chicken curry definitely had more flavor, but the Pad See Ew was very plain. In my opinion.

The food was delicious !! We ordered the tai fried rice with shrimp and the curry chicken. This will definitely be our new favorite spot… I almost devoured the food before I remembered to take a pic!
