What a hidden gem! My husband and I came here looking for Smoked Fresh (closed), and decided to give this place a whirl since we were starving. They were out of oxtail, but we got the goat plate and it was an absolute banger.

This place is not good to buy any food even if you are super hungry. Do not buy food from that restaurant. First, let me say I am proud to be Haitian and I know Haitians have a distinguished cuisine. My daughter is half Haitian and my wife is Asian. Since we are from New York my wife was introduced to Haitian food. She loves Caribbean food. I drove almost 20 minutes to get there; after I waited 30 minutes before I received the salty food the woman who was serving is the same woman receiving the money. She barely speaks any English. The menu is written on a small chalkboard with many English mistakes to the point my daughter who is a 1st grader asked me what is “FEEF.” I think they were trying to write for free. The writing was worst than a kindergartener’s. The teller/cook did not know how to count. She charged me 14 plus 9. Then she added it mentally; the total came out to be $32. Remember, 14+9 = 32. I think they are not ready yet to open a business such as takeout food.

This is not a place to buy foods periods. I came from New Jersey and said to myself that I need to buy myself some Haitians foods. The lady told me that she has fried goat meat, mixed rice and beans. She charged $22.50 for the one plate. I have been to some other states, the way the present expensive plate is better. It is not into one plate. She puts the rice and beans, goat meat, pilliez, and macaroni into one plate. In NJ, Maryland, Boston, New Hampshire, Delaware, he fois is well presented to customers. Pollux in small container, meat into one container and (for ice and beans, fried plaintains, and macaroni) into one plate by itself. She is robbing people on top of the food is not good. My twelve years old can do a better job into the macaroni. I returned the food to her because I did not like the presentation and taste of the fried goat meat. The plantain was dirty because she does change the oil. It is seems to me the rice and beans was leftover. The macaroni was also a leftover. The only thing that seems fresh is the fried plantain and the fried goat.

Went in the first time they only take cash so I went to another place to eat. Went in yesterday asked for a menu and was told the menu was written on the chalkboard that was all jumbled up so I didn’t know what went with what then I was asking for stewed beef and rice and she tried to sell me oxtail and fried beef. The language barrier was a challenge that I think cudve been fixed with a clear menu and what comes with what
