Reviews
Update:
Since they replied to my review I just want to clarify. 1. Yes the appetizers did come out within 20 min(still very long to wait for soup and dumplings) the rest of the meal took over 40 min to arrive. 2. The music was not French Cafe style, it was definitely hip hop and out of character for this type of restaurant. I know owners do not like when you critique their restaurant but as you can see I’m a level 6 reviewer hence I have many reviews under my belt. I am very honest in my reviews and attempt to let any future diners aware of different aspects about and in the establishment.
They sold me the moment I saw Malaysian curry laksa.
Upon entering, Clarissa greeted me with warm welcomes, I ordered the curry laksa.
Coming to find out, Chef Michel had lived in Malaysia (my home country) for about 11 years.
I trusted his experience in Malaysian cooking more as the flavors are very complex.
The food was delicious. It hit the spot for me. It tasted as authentic as it can get in my fair opinion.
The sesame balls hit the spot for dessert too. It wasn’t overly sweet which is HUGE for me. I loved it so so much.
Now, not only the food was AMAZING, but Chef and his wife Clarissa are such wonderful and amazing people. I enjoyed our conversations about the world and food. It was such a pleasant and beautiful experience to meet someone who understands Malaysian culture and food.
would most certainly recommend coming here for the food. I would love to be back here when I’m in town.
Great (like over the top great) service
Fantastic dining experience
Small and quaint. The hot and sour soup was amazing!
Every dish was delicious. We had Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, and Crab Puffs for appetizers. My husband was impressed with the Hot & Sour Soup. Our entrees were Chicken Pad Thai, Red Curry with Shrimp, Chicken Katsu, and Egg Foo Yung. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff was very welcoming and took our reservation for 4 adults plus a stroller. It’s not easy to find a place downtown that will go to those lengths for you.
We had the Korean beef bulgogi and the Filipino chicken/pork adobo and both were really good as were the potstickers we had as a starter. We overheard several other diners commenting on how much they enjoyed it also.
Service from Clarissa was very friendly and efficient, and after our meal we spoke with her and Michel and they are both lovely. They’re very passionate about their place and rightly so as it really was good.
