Friendly country spot with plenty of seating at 11:30 am on a Sunday. Ordered the meatloaf with yams and green beans. The yams were fantastic! The meatloaf was a smaller portion on top of a bed on white rice. Not a big fan of the rice. Cornbread included with the meal was a nice size. They had a bottle of honey on the table. Had to ask for butter. Overall a good meal.

Food is great. I had the shrimp 12 piece and the shrimp was meaty and the seasoning very good. Peach cobbler was very tasty. The greens and cabbage was very good, pulled pork, will let’s just say my friend liked it so much he didn’t share. The 3 of us ate will and enjoyed it all. If you like southern food this is your place.

If you’re one of those leaving a 1 star rating and expecting this to be a 5 star Michelin experience. Don’t bother, we don’t need your type here. This is real food that will touch your soul and awaken your taste buds. The portions are very satisfying and very modesty priced. Drake, the owner is very personable and has been around the block. I have literally tried everything on the menu with the exception of chitlins and I must say that I have liked everything. I have never had any other Mac and Cheese with more cheese. The Greens, Fried Cabbage, Candied Yams, Green Beans, Corn, Red Beans and Rice and Black Eyed Peas are on point and delicious. My favorite main courses are the Fried Pork Chops, Oxtails, Gumbo, Chicken, Catfish, Fried Ribs, Meatloaf, Chicken Fried Steak……hell all the others are delicious as well. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Me and my husband are new to the area, we moved from Missouri and have been trying local restaurants. This place did not disappoint. It was very fresh, and delicious. We will definitely be back. I totally recommend if you’re in the area, or it’s definitely worth a drive.

The three stars is for the EXCELLENT customer service, theyreallymadeusfeelwelcome. We went there for a date night, I ordered the fried ribs, yams and fried cabbage. My wife ordered catfish, greens and Mac and cheese. My ribs were crispy (just the way I like it), tender (just the way I like it), but lacked seasoning and flavor the fried cabbage was very spicy (I couldn’t eat it, because I don’t like spicy), the yams we good. My wife said the mac and cheese just had the cheese on top, not throughout. She liked the catfish.

The fried food is amazing. Mac and cheese is amazing. The greens were terrible. The meat loaf was hot from the outside but cold on the gravy was really good and the corn bread was mediocre. Best part about this place is the fried food in the Mac and cheese. The greens just taste like they came out of a Can for some reason.. My son just about eats anything and he could not eat the meat loaf. I would imagine that the meat loaf is good when it’s fresh.

Wish they were closer to Yuba City bc the food is just AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! First time trying southern food. The portions are so HUGE that we had leftovers for the next day! The oxtail, fried chicken and meatloaf was cooked to perfection. The Smothered chicken was slightly salty but still good. Mashed potatoes and corn bread were the best but I think they forgot to add corn bread to each plate (ordered takeout) only one of our plates had the corn bread, which is fine. We had ordered extra corn bread which was enough for a family of 6. The Mac and cheese was one of my favorites, so yummy. I will definitely come back when I’m craving some more Southern food!
