My family who lives in the area said this was their favorite diner, and I can absolutely see why. The food was delicious, and came out so fast! The pancakes were just the right texture, light and fluffy; the breakfast potatoes were spectacular; and the scrapple was amazing. We were too full to eat dessert while we were there, but we bought some to go (and they even gave us some extra cake for free!) and it was just as good as everything else. The restaurant was clean and appealingly decorated, and the service was great. Our waitress, whose name was Jane, I believe, was absolutely perfect: friendly, professional, and attentive. I’d be excited to come back any time I’m in town.

If you like an authentic diner experience, this is it! I enjoy their breakfasts. The homefries are generously portioned. I get the two large slices of toasted rye bread. The French toast is on point, too. They offer turkey sausage, bacon, and scrapple. Selling points for me. Fresh bakery sweets–Italian cookies, cannollis, cupcakes, whole cakes, etc. I had their cookies and cream cheesecake. Awesome!

My first time at Empire Diner was great. The atmosphere was energetic. The service was excellent. The food was really good. I order the fried seafood combo which was very good. You get a choice of soup or salad and two sides. There raspberry ice tea was really good. Thumps up.

The soup was flavorful, the atmosphere was relaxing but the service was a bit…well, I have to say I’m used to a waitress checking back to see how you’re enjoying your meal,….if you need anything else, however, that wasn’t the case here. I’ve been here before, I may go back again, but this last visit just wasn’t the greatest.

I’ve been visiting Philadelphia from Jamaica for 25 years and my aunt introduced to me the Strawberry Shortcake and it is TO DIE FOR!!! And its been delicious and so nostalgic. Food and baked goods are divine… thanks for being apart of my forever memory. I grabbed 2 slices along with the strawberry cheesecake tonight. ENJOYED EVERY BITE!!! Thank you!!

Classic diner feel and environment. I was not very impressed by the food but it wasn’t bad. The hollandaise sauce had lots of clumps and the turkey and ham in the monte Cristo sandwich tasted old. The home fries were very greasy. The service was good!
