We stopped by Elephant Shack and ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Kapow , both were delicious! The flavors were spot on and everything was cooked perfectly. The portions felt a bit smaller than we remember, but the taste definitely made up for it.
We originally wanted to order the Yum Nua, but noticed the price had gone up to $26 (it used to be around $21). Still, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying as always.
The workers were both very friendly, and the overall ambiance was cute and welcoming. Even with the price changes, it’s still one of our favorite casual Thai spots to visit when we’re in the area.

Elephant Shack here and on the north shore are some of the best food trucks on the island. Fresh food with some really nice ingredients that make the pad Thai not only customizable but delicious. Priced fairly well considering location and style. A must try for fans of Thai food and trucks.

The BEST food I’ve had since being here in Hawaii for about a year!!! The chefs answered all my questions thoroughly and trust me I had a lot! I truly love food and wanted to try something different. My husband and I both ordered the Yum Nua with different spice levels and the Thai coconut milk tea! My taste buds danced with every sip and bite. I’m still sipping tea as I type this sad that it’s almost gone! The Yum Nua has such a fresh and exciting flavor. From the cilantro to shallots to chili lime sauce I’m just so happy to have experienced this place personally. If you’re in the area please grab some for yourself, come back & tell us about it!

Yum pla with cilantro and lime sauce was delicious. Would ask to have the sauce on the side next time so the fish could stay crispy and rice could stay fluffy. We ordered it spicy and they did not disappoint! We also got Kapow, it was delicious too. Star of the show would be Yum Pla.

I didn’t try any of the food however, I ordered a Tai Iced Tea only to find a fly in my drink. When I informed the proprietor of the establishment of my discovery, he was super apologetic and replaced my drink with no questions asked. He even offered more than what I had purchased and was genuinely embarrassed by the fluke that nature had provided. I informed him that we were good accepted another drink sans fly. I would definitely recommend trying the food here and leaving a generous tip! The Elephant Shack in Honolulu is the real deal and you won’t be dissapointed.

Honestly, kind of an amazing place. It’s located at the wooden food truck area, which is actually pretty nice. The truck has a nice ordering screen. It has vegan options. I’ve often been surprised at how much I enjoyed my meals here. I’m addicted to their vegan / Ganesha larb at the moment.
Best of all, Thai hot is actually hot here! Not as hot as I’d like, but I’m used to Thai hot at a lot of places not even registering. Actually, they’re willing to go even hotter if you get to know them!
It’s on the wooden food truck court, which is kind of a cool place with wood tables. The setting is really my only complaint, as there are flies and sometimes the tables aren’t totally clean. Not this restaurant’s fault.

This place was delicious. Chicken pad tai was fantastic, the wings were amazing and spicy, and that Tea… so good. Great service, we absolutely can’t wait to go back! Average price of an entree was $17 we got 3 things and a drink for about $60 worth it!!
