Social Profile:

The Perez-Herrera family made their American Dream come true in 2005 when they started their first restaurant venture in the food court of a Mexican grocery store in West Valley City, Utah. It did not take long before the Northern Utah community had taken notice to the unique flavor of their seafood menu. Many people drive from faraway towns to try this delicious food. Influenced by the cooking of his upbringing, Chef Mario Perez, learned the art of cooking and preparing seafood with the fresh ingredients of his hometown, El Dorado Culiacán in the State of Sinaloa Mexico.

This is not my first bad experience at El Dorado Seafood, and unfortunately it probably won’t be my last if nothing changes.

On my most recent visit, my group of three arrived around 12 PM during peak hours, so waiting about an hour for a table was understandable. What was not acceptable was being sat and then completely unattended for about 30 minutes. No server came to greet us, no drinks were offered, and we didn’t even get chips or water. After sitting there waiting with no service at all, we decided to leave.

This isn’t an isolated incident either. On another visit we came with a larger party of around eight people, and the restaurant automatically added a mandatory 20% gratuity. Normally that would be fine for a big party, but the service absolutely did not match that charge. Drinks weren’t refilled, service was slow, and overall the staff seemed uninterested. It feels like because gratuity is automatically added, there’s no incentive for good service.

The food used to be good, but the restaurant clearly cannot handle the volume of customers they bring in.

The parking situation is also a disaster. When we were leaving, cars were parked in ways that boxed other vehicles in, creating complete chaos in the lot with no organization or enforcement.

Overall, this place has consistently poor service, long waits, and poor management of capacity and parking. I would honestly recommend eating somewhere else until they improve how they handle customers. This is not my first bad experience at El Dorado Seafood, and unfortunately it probably won’t be my last if nothing changes.

I’m not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I’ve never had a rude waitress, so until then it’s five stars from me. I see people complain about the price, umm. . . You are eating seafood. If you can’t afford it then don’t order it?

I love the food here!

Ridiculous,I will never come back, the food was AWFUL,to expensive for something with that mediocre taste,I get the Caldo 7 Mares, meh,my husband get the Tacos Gobernador, the server ask him if he wants some those little octopus for his tacos,he doesn’t want to but she desperately want to sell us more and my husband said “well we can try a little bit in one taco” she doesn’t care and puts a lot on the order, she charges $8.00 for that, she never told us that “extra” will be so expensive, then she ask us if we want “more lemon” I said yes and she give a little lemon cutting in 2 and she CHARGED $1 FOR THAT,they literally never told us about the extra charge for that, she put in the system 20% of tip, doesn’t ask or tell nothing about to change the amount and we basically spend 76$ in that meal,I will not recommend nobody come here, the ambience was uncomfortable.

This place was a pleasant surprise! Judith, our server was very friendly, fast and helpful since it was our first time here. The food was the best we’ve had in a very long time! We will definitely be coming back with friends!

Wasn’t very busy and the service wasn’t very good. We sat for quite a while with no menus and no acknowledgement from the server. Finally got menus and they didn’t give everyone one. Gave us guacamole but no chips. Brought us an appetizer but no plates and no silverware. We had to go ask for everything.
The food was very good!!
When what appeared to be the manager came back from break, everyone started working again. Very odd experience. I won’t hold it against the restaurant though. Maybe it was just an off day for them.

I was served by a really kind waiter, her name was Janika. Excellent service and hospitality. I loved the camarones a la diabla with pulpo and the tacos gobernador were amazing as well. 100% recommended

The food is great! Service is great as well, ask for specials on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
The chips and alada could be fresh and the guacamole was ok.
We’ll be coming back to try the specials.
Pricing is average.
Parking could be difficult at times.

Wow! The food here really surprised me. I will absolutely be back, probably this week.
The service though was on another level. I don’t remember ever having this kind of service in the US. Really happy with everything
