My friend and I ended up here because we googled happy hours near me and this place popped up but they do not offer happy hour on Mondays I believe she said only Wednesdays but honestly the prices were reasonable it felt like happy hour even without the specials. It was a cute restaurant with a cozy little bar that sits maybe 6 people in the back of the restaurant. Our server was Jessica and we was absolutely delightful and very attentive. She had recommendations for us and suggestions to really get the best experience for our buck! My friend and I enjoyed a pitcher of Texas Margaritas to split and they were perfection the sweet and sour didnt give me heartburn later either which I loved! The queso was a nice flavor and perfect consistency of milky cheese goodness. We also split a dip with hamburger taco meat, refried beans, pico and sour cream and it was tasty but not something I would order again. We also split a single order of fajitas that I was the perfect amount. I had one very full taco or beef fajita meat and my friend had two and we still had almost half a plate of meat, peppers, and onions left! It also came with perfectly seasoned refried beans and rice! There were no complaints from the meal or experience. Thank you El Zarape and Jessica for a lovely experience!

The parking spots might be difficult to find in the weekend or holiday. But we came by on a Tuesday afternoon so there’s still plenty of street parking close to the restaurant. My boyfriend is a loyal eater of this family restaurant since he was a kid growing up. So, when he show me around his hometown, this is our option for dinner.

They have a good variety of dishes in the menu and the price is affordable. It seems that many of diners are frequent customers, so the ambience does have that family business vibe when the servers know almost everyone. Our server is friendly and very accommodative with my request for the simple fish tacos.

We had cheese dip, quesadilla lucas, fish taco (grilled tilapia), and pineapple juice drink.

The dishes taste fresh of the stove. The grilled fish are still burning hot when being served but I like it that way. They cooked the fish well too, tender, and not too burned.

I will definitely come back here the next time I have the chance to be in town.

My wife and I went to get drinks for our wedding anniversary and ordered a side of beans. The atmosphere was great and the staff were working hard. The margaritas were a little too sweet, though. They needed a better balance of alcohol versus mixer. I will say, we walked down the street to another bar and ordered the same drink. It tasted better (stronger), but it was definitely more expensive! Overall, we really enjoyed it and we are excited to see more of what the food tastes like next time!

So overall this place was great! Server was very friendly and attentive. I always had a full drink and napkins, etc.

I’m taking one star off for the price as I feel it’s a bit high compared to other Mexican Restaurants in the area that supply the same quality and serving size. I also wasn’t a big fan of their meat, that being the shredded chicken and ground beef we got. That was in the burritos and tacos. They just didn’t have any flavor and the beef was super runny, almost watered down?

I definitely think if you go here you have to get their grilled meats, not the ground beef or shredded chicken. I say this because the one thing we enjoyed immensely was actually our appetizer, papas locas. The chicken on this tasted like it came from a totally different restaurant. It was seasoned well and super flavorful. Not to mention the dish itself was really good! Also, their rice was delicious, however, not a big fan of the beans. Overall, I’d say it’s worth going once and trying for yourself.
