Horrible food. Brisket perfect. Baked beans are like chili. I’m sure some like them. Big complaint. Called to see if any food was GLUTEN FREE. I was told yes. Got there. Fries are only gluten free if served raw. My sons plate was gluten free. Again I called. My husband and I ordered the large plate. Each served on 3 pieces of toast. We couldn’t eat anything served. Waitress never came back. Best BBQ outside KC is served in Jefferson City. So sad. I called in advance.

First time eating here. We had a 1/2 order of nachos…..unless you have 4 or more people, the 1/2 is plenty! 2 meat platter and wings. All was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive to filling our glasses.

The dry rub on the rack of ribs was good. The smoke was good. Temp was ok, I thought it would have been fire hot, but maybe it’s low n slow style. I advise trying all the sauces.

I was in town around lunch so I came in to enjoy some BBQ. I was most excited about the brisket. I ordered their sampler platter with beans and fries. The beams tasted very smokey. Almost overwhelmingly smpkey. The crinkle cut fries were perfect. Excellent in every way. I started on the burnt ends. Some were very fatty. Some were crispy (my favorite), and others were soft and almost mushy. A little disappointed, I moved on to the pulled pork next. It was average. Nothing exceptional. Then I tried the ribs. I didn’t even use sauce. The ribs were incredible. Perfect. Then there looked to be 3 small slices of brisket. They were terrible. I tried one… ugh. Then I slathered it in sauce. Drowning the flavor wasn’t enough to even allow me to eat single entire slice of brisket. I set it aside thinking it was just that one piece. No. The second piece of brisket was just as bad. I didn’t bother with the 3rd. Very disappointing meal.. Considering that I was most excited about the brisket. I wholeheartedly recommend the ribs and crinkle cut fries. Stay away from the brisket and beans.

This place is the best BBQ near the lake. Don’t waste your time anywhere else! All of the meats are perfect and the portions are huge. The spoon bread is probably the best cornbread you’ll ever have. They also have multiple sauce options.

We dined in here. They weren’t busy so service was fast. However, when our food did come, we were still missing some things. The server was very polite and friendly and got them right away for us. We all ordered pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was tender and flavorful. We ordered the creamy coleslaw(which was good), the fresh coleslaw (which was crunchy cabbage with some vinegar – it was alright), the potato salad (good and fine), but the best was smoked beans (so flavorful and smokey!). They have 3 BBQ sauces at the table (mustard, sweet, and spicy), and then you can ask for the extra spicy sauce to be brought over. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here and would return.

My husband and I are pretty particular about the BBQ we eat. We decided to check this one out while at the Lake. We ordered the sampler and a 2 meat combo. Burnt ends were delicious, very tender and good flavor. Ribs and pulled pork were decent. Ham and brisket were ok flavor but kinda dry. Pulled chicken was swimming in sauce and couldn’t taste the chicken. Spoonbread was pretty good. All in all, better than some places we’ve been, and not as good as others.

Pretty good barbecue. The spicy sauce was my favorite. French fries were nice and crisp and very hot when they came out. Server was nice and took care of us well. Reasonably priced for barbecue.

Their food was excellent! With the exception of myself, everyone else ordered the sandwich special. My order took too long and I had to get it to go by the time they brought it to my table.
