I recently tried El Toro Patrón Mexican Food and had a great food experience. I ordered the beef flautas and they were so tasty. The flautas came with crema, queso fresco, topped with shredded lettuce and an endless variety of homemade salsas. The menu has a variety of classic authentic Mexican plates..
The service was friendly and the staff were welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable—perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed bite with friends or family.
If you’re looking for solid Mexican food with good portions and a laid-back vibe, El Toro Patrón is definitely worth checking out. I’d come back again and again. El Toro Patron is family owned and family ran establishment, and the family takes pride in the food and service they provide. Try El Patron and you ei find yourself returning for the savory taste.

Stopped in at El Toro in Los Lunas — and wow, the food is phenomenal. You can tell they really care about their craft. Everything coming out of that kitchen tastes fresh and intentional, and the place itself? Spotless. Dining area, kitchen, even the bathroom — probably the cleanest setup we’ve seen in Valencia County.
That said, it’s pretty pricey. We grabbed 8 tacos and the total came out around $36. Small business ain’t easy these days — between wages, food cost, and keeping a building running — we totally get it. Still, for that price point, two people should probably walk out feeling full. The tacos were on the smaller side, so maybe a simple side or two (beans, rice, or chips) would round things out and make it feel like a full meal.
All that said — they’re easily some of the best tacos in Valencia County. You can tell these folks know what they’re doing. If you’re after quality over quantity and a super clean spot, El Toro’s worth the visit.

Owner fully explained any menu item we asked about. They had a buffet bar for different salsa and hot sauces. We had 1 chicken and 1 cheese quesadilla. The flavors were totally their own. Definately would reccomend.

Absolutely amazing food and service! Some of the best food I have had in all of Los Lunas, the addition of the torro shaped chip was amazing! Flavorful meat and amazing salsas. The customer service was stellar and very welcoming and the explanation of everything there is to offer as well as how things are prepared was amazing. Definitely will be returning many more times!

I can’t say enough good things about this local taqueria. From the second you walk in, you’re treated like a friend. The service is incredible (the owner’s daughter is an absolute gem!), and the food is even better. The Tacos and Quesadillas are top-tier, and they top every plate with their signature “El Toro” chip. Also, if you haven’t tried their pickled onions yet, you are missing out—they are life-changing! 10/10.

We were traveling from Arizona to Colorado and found this spot on Google. Even though we arrived about 40 minutes before closing, we were warmly welcomed and never felt rushed. The food was incredible, authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant was spotless, and the service was genuinely friendly from start to finish. They truly deserve 5+ stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing, and the family that owns and runs this place are some of the nicest folks I’ve ever met. And some of the best food in New Mexico. Flour tortillas are made fresh daily, and the portions are generous. The fillings are hearty and seasoned perfectly. It’s great for takeout or enjoying on the patio.

We traveled all the way from Tampa, Florida to try these tacos after hearing they were the best in town—and they absolutely lived up to the hype. Outside of Mexico, these are the best tacos we’ve had anywhere in the United States. The flavor and portion sizes were incredible. We’ll definitely be coming back. The service was fast, and everything was very clean. Highly recommended!
