Update. Tried them a few times. The food is still great, and the service too. If you want to go, order ahead, and it will be ready when you get there.
As for the food, it was good. They took a little time, but it’s food that they make at the moment, which I appreciate. To be honest, it lacks a bit of salt, but that’s something available on the table, and you can add it to your taste. The sauces and other things for the food are self-serve, which I find very good.
Additionally, I ordered takeout and was able to eat at least two more times in one day. The total cost was only $50, which I think is reasonable since it’s something two people could easily eat for lunch, and I had it all by myself. I ordered two gorditas, a pineapple water, and a huarache, which came to $19. That’s pretty good!
The service is excellent; the person who serves you is very friendly, and you don’t have to tip obligatorily, which is great because there are places where you are forced to, but this is not the case.
In summary, I would honestly give it a 9.5/10. Good place.
Had the birria tacos today again today. Still delicious!!
El Toro Bravo was recently a vendor at our local high school Hispanic Heritage festival. The food was absolutely delicious!!! I was so impressed that I asked for a card because I had not heard of their restaurant. Imagine my joy when I found that they we literally right down the street! We visited the restaurant for take out and again were so impressed. The wait was not long. The price was fair. The food was again delicious and plentiful. I forgot to add rice and beans because I was so excited about the Birria tacos but that was okay because the three tacos filled me up. We plan to continue to visit. Great service, friendly. Clean inside.
Our service was OK. We had to ask if we order at the counter, seat ourselves, or wait to be seated when no one acknowledged us. At the table, our waitress answered all our questions, but we were never checked on for refills or anything else after we were served. You’ll figure out sooner or later that you don’t get a bill, you just go up to the front counter and pay.
Fun fact: on the wall near the bathrooms there is a space for each Mexican state. You can sign your name under which one you’re from.
