I always get the roast pork with yellow rice and beans. I love the alcapurrias. The chicken soup is delicious. Sometimes if they have it, I get the pupusas. Everything I’ve ever ordered here has been delicious. It’s tastes home cooked, and fresh. It’s too bad I live a couple hours away, or I’d be here every week. It’s a very casual place.

El Saborosa is my favorite restaurant in Jersey City! I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always consistently delicious. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the staff is always friendly. It’s truly a hidden gem I recommend to everyone.

The food in this restaurant used to be great. This was when they moved from a very cramped location to the current address. Then it all started to go downhill. The original people who made it great are no longer there and those who replaced them are terrible. Not only is the food very sub par but it’s also way overpriced. Sad to see such a one time great restaurant turn into something I refuse to go to. Sad.

We came from out of town for personal reasons and came across this place looking for some Puerto Rican food and were not disappointed. Everything was cooked to perfection. We had the tostones the sweet bananas black beans arroz gandules pernil chicken empanada with meat chicken sandwich. Our server had so much patience with us and was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place and return if we make it back to New Jersey.

This restaurant has the kind of comfort that keeps you coming back. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this place so thoroughly. The kitchen chooses good ingredients with satisfying serving sizes. Not exaggerating, these workers are outstanding, remarkably friendly, knowledgeable and make you feel at home right away. I’m eager to go back and explore new offerings.

Food is ok, overrated in my opinion. The appetizers was the best part of the meal.. Beef stew was dry and no flavor, puterican rice tasted like white rice. Missed the mark. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! Never came back to my table. Had toget up 3 xs. Got her attention and then never came…. I wouldn’t recommend it…sorry I speak TRUTH ONLY…

Been coming to this restaurant since I was young with my mom & stepdad. I now live in Florida and EVERY time I come to visit Jersey I MUST stop at my favorite Spanish restaurant. Food is amazing every time and the owner and staff are really nice. I LOVE A THIS restaurant & would highly recommend.

Came here and had Tostones with Bistec encebollado (steak and onions) and a bowl of mixed salad. All was good. Just felt that since the cooking area is not blocked off from the dining area, you go home smelling just like greasy food. But overall not bad.

Pretty affordable food and everything is made fresh. Since everything is made fresh, you will have to wait a while. Highly recommend the alcapuria or the empanadas.
