My wife Beth and I had a terrific dinner at El Rodeo on Jan. 31,2014. We were on our way to NY, and spent the night in Edgewood. We were greeted by the receptionist who was very pleasant , and sat us immediately. Once seated, another happy young man brought us chips and salsa, and told us our waitperson will be with us in a few minutes. It was Friday night and almost all tables and booths were filled. In no time at all, Sara, came right over to our table and took our drink order. She also recommended an IPA that was on tap…and was great tasting. With our dinner order taken, we enjoyed the music and all the fun that was going on around us. Sara made everything flow so smooth for us…she was great and so was our dinner. If you’re looking for something different, El Rodeo is it. We will be back soon!

Where do I start. When we were finally seated the table we had was sticky. The waitress didn’t come by to get our drink orders for almost 10 minutes. When we finally ordered and got our food, the food was terrible and had no flavor once so ever. I understand that all places aren’t fine dining.. but for the prices they had on their food it tasted like mush. My Girlfriend and I couldn’t even finish eating our food we were in such disgust (even though it took the waitress 5 minutes to get us silverware). When we mentioned it to the waitress she said “oh I’ll take care of that for you.” Then proceeds to give us a “generous” 10% discount which saved me three whole bucks. The waitress then took forever to give us our check and in the meantime spilled a tray of drinks on the people sitting at the next table and didn’t even make any effort to accommodate the man for making him soaked. Just a quick “Oh I’m sorry” and she walked away. They seemed just as disappointed as we were and were in the process of leaving when we left.

Overall the food wasn’t as good as the prices suggest. The waitress was slow, unfriendly, and unhelpful. The restaurant itself appeared fair, but the sticky table kind of did it in for me.

Would I ever go back to this location again? Probably. But that’s only when me and the guys want to go out for some beers (which I’m even hesitant about that). I’m sure their beer is over priced as well and it’ll take me 10 minutes to get each drink.

We visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and although the prices were a tad on the high side of comfortable, the food was excellent. We did have a coupon, so that helped. Our server was absolutely wonderful, very attentive and friendly, and we really enjoyed the experience overall. I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas… the portion size was generous, and it was delicious! We will be going back again.

Overall terrible experience.

We waited around 45 minutes to be seated. Not a big deal.

Waiter never checked on drinks. I had to corral all the empties and push them to the edge to get him to notice.

It took an asinine amount of time to get our entrees. The guy that brought out our food didn’t know where it was supposed to go. He spun around in circles and was going to go back to the kitchen when we flagged him down. He tossed our plates on the table and was about to leave when we asked if he could take our empty appetizer plates. He said no and started to walk away. We kinda sat there like are you serious? And he kinda nervously laughed and grabbed the plate. It would have been fine it we weren’t waiting hours to get our food and already weren’t soured.

The food itself wasn’t terrible. Just not exemplary for the price or the experience.

The wait staff were not apologetic about the wait times, they just said yeah the kitchens busy.
The owner needs to take a little pride in his business. Not going back.

We went here on a Monday night. Very few tables were filled. Two servers in evidence. Food was extremely slow to come out., a beer that was ordered was forgotten and had to be requested a second time. The steak in the burrito was chewy, grilled chicken on the salad was dry and cold. My teen boys who devour food left most of it on their plates. Service was slow and it seemed they were more interested in goofing off in the kitchen (dancing, singing, clapping) than attending to diners.

I was in there for lunch, the first customer of the afternoon. I sat at the bar and looked at the menu. I waited, and waited and waited and waited for someone to get my drink order and get my appetizer going. So here we go, off to a good start. The appetizer, stuffed jalapenos were pretty good.

I usually judge a tex-mex, mexican place by its salsa – and that should have been enough to warn me to leave. It was soooo bland, not spicy, very watery; chips were chewy and greasy. The main meal was fajitas that also lacked flavor, spices, some knowledge of cooking….it was bad. I waited to pay almost as long as I waited in the beginning for my drink. I paid – and got the he!! out of there. Very expensive too.

Not sure how this place has survived 2 years and is making money? There are better choices in Bel Air – La Tolteca is the name I believe.

– – and FYI to the doubters – no I am not a disgruntled employee – I just know horrible tex-mex and bad service when I see it.

Ive never had such bland mexican food. I got the tres fajitas and they taste unseasoned and the steak was chewy & poor quality . I ordered a “fresh fruit” strawberry and then orange crush…. the strawberry taste like straight daiquiri mix and the orange tast like orange rind and had seeds throughout. I was told the fajitas are the best thing here… I pray they were lying. The beat thing about my experience is the service wasnt bad and the karaoke was entertaining.

Our fave go-to restaurant on the Abingdon side of 95. When the kitchen is on, the food is FANTASTIC! I love the steak tacos. I fell in love with them on our first visit. The steak was cooked perfectly…it melted in my mouth. Tried a variety of entrees, including the Hawaiian Quesadilla’s b/c I’m a sucker for pineapple. Other family favorites are a fajita-type burrito, minus any sauces, and the kids quesadilla is my little one’s fave dish.
Chef Neel did a great job bringing some Tex Mex flair into Harford County. Food’s great, staff is great. And have you seen the bar? It’s HUGE!

A Harford County Gem! You’ve got to see this place! Over the top!! The service and food was just perfect. We ate and drank and listened to music and drank some more … They’ve got a great team over there on Edgewood Rd. With the atmosphere, service and delicious food, you would have expected to see this place in the heart of Bel Air. Still… worth the ride to 95 & 24. I’ll be back!

Our 4th try here, fourth time’s a charm? First try the bar was not open yet and this “Mexican” restaurant’s music selection included ‘Anchors Away’ with tuba. Second try was the bar’s surprise opening with wait staff only hired an hour before and bumping into one another trying to unlock the mysteries of running the frozen Margarita machine. Third try we brought a friend for a thoroughly mundane experience. This try tops that so far!
